Non horror games that disturbed/scared you?
Like, games that aren't meant to be scary, but still freaked you out. I got quite a few, so here we go.

- Gears of War (The OG): Compared to the next entries, Gears 1 is pretty freaking dark. The gritty, apocalyptic atmosphere, plus all the freaky sequences like the berserkers and kryll, gives this game a very frightful edge to it.

- Fallout 1: Like Gears 1, Fallout 1 has much more of a spooky feel to it than it's sequels. There's not too much humor or light moments (if there is humor, it's dark jokes), the world feels genuinely decayed and dead, and has more than enough disturbing places and characters.

Quake 4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJwyjWpP4XA first time I played it, I thought I'd be rescued, until his legs got removed.

Non-Horror game that scared me?

"Superman 64"

I still have nightmares about trying to fly through the rings. :steamsad:
The nightmare land section or whatever it was called from Rayman 2. Not the level itself, but the chase sequence where some monster's teeth would appear on the screen and get closer to Rayman if you weren't fast enough. I was very young but still, spooky.

That game was meant to prepare an entire generation for jumping through hoops.
Dying light the first one when you have to go in the school
Or anytime you hear a crying baby
Soma.
The story was way more disturbing that the game itself and still gives me the chills.

Sure. Why not? There isn't a clear definition what a "horror" game is. It's kind of a wonky term.
Many games can be horror games.

Usually there is some sort of walking corpse in it or whatever. Something evil, unnatural, or super-natural. Something that cannot exist and or is not explained logically or (pseudo-)scientifically.

Something that is abhorrent or abominable.
