I also sometimes get times where I'll be kind of half awake, half still dreaming. I might glance over at my alarm clock, see I don't have to get up yet, and then when I close my eyes I'm right back in the dream.
Me too. For some reason, in adulthood I've developed sleep paralysis on occasion, but even when I am not having sleep paralysis, there will be times I will be tossing and turning, somewhat awake, and able to do stuff consciously, while simultaneously hearing noises because I am still dreaming, it's weird.

then I accused it of not actually wanting anything and it ran away and found dozens of people it had placed in the same situation decades later, and had them run my dream-sim for an instance or two. hoping it would figure out what it wanted and had not just been caught being extremely stupid.
eventually it left us all in charge of it and then forgot why it was doing it in the first place.
