I once saw a film where a dude died in a grenade explosion in one scene then he was back alive and well two scenes later. Continuity doesn't mean much in the movies.

Quite self-explanatory I think. Alternate timeline.

In the trailer there is a dead giant ant-man, which is not something that occurred in any prior film. In one of the trailers, someone even said, “this wolverine let his timeline down” or something of that nature. In short- Deadpool seems to take place in an alternate universe from the other marvel films, and this wolverine seems to be from a different timeline that is likely neither the x-man timeline or the marvel timeline.

logan only happened because wolverine's a chump that you can dump in any old timeline to tell whatever story you want, and he's so disposable that even if he dies you can just dump him in again.
