Just imagine a person with a handgun telling others that he is Emperor of the Universe. I won't object to him but I will probably try to not agree either. Just keep silent and do nothing.
One never reinforces a delusion. Never.
And, if a delusion is very closely held, something like a belief that the person defines everything around, if you breach it or strongly attempt to force them away from it, they get angry.
I would usually take a "leave well enough alone" approach. Depends whether it becomes personal---or on my mood, I suppose.
It was pretty cool to hear him out.
Although I did wish im the best on his (mental) health. Dude might've been utterly insane, but AFAIK in a harmless way.
