Why do USA still have such poor work life balance despite its high productivity

USA consistently rank as one of the countries with highest hourly productivity yet unlike other countries with similar productivity, americans work signficantly more hours per year.

Americans desire a more luxurious lifestyle. That money has to come from somewhere. They work more to support it.

Don’t really seems true as the people that work a lot seems to be on the poorer side. If you have money you are much less forced to work as much.

Productivity is exactly why!

1 person in America is often doing anywhere from 1-5 other people's jobs for the pay of a single job, workload-wise... And many are working multiple jobs just to make ends meet, especially when rent is often over $2000 a month!

Productivity going up is exactly why work/life balance is going down, along with stagnating wages, and massive inflation.

Because our hard-earned money is being sent to fund wars.
