I like YouTube with Ublock Orgin in FireFox, and SmatTube for Android TV, FireTv removes all the advertising. Because :middle_finger: Google and Youtube advertising.

Google has been cracking down on people using ad blockers. I refuse to surf the net without an adblocker. Surfing the net without an ad blocker is dangerous as ads are the main vector or filth.

Ads in the mid to late 90's were used to spread bad stuff. So we learned quickly to block stuff.

Anybody remember the BHO, browser helper object's, days? Getting one of those meant you browser got hijacked and was made to serve ads. Sometimes you would not even know it that your system picked up a BHO.

BHO's are now known as addons. In Firefox you can install addons that do stuff for you.

But back then they were used to install whatever the bad actor wanted. Mostly to serve ads that they got paid for.

So most of us early netizens quickly adopted the no ad's ever notion.

This is the reason i use firefox browser. I can block ads. Cant do that with chrome as well. If at all.

This week google made it impossible for me to view stuff on youttube with an adblocker. I tried all my usualy tricks.

I will not pay google to not see ads. I refuse to pay for youttube. That is not something that i will pay for. I can go without YT.

So now i am removing most of the google things i can control. I dont use gmail and use proton instead. I dont use drop box. I dont use youtube....cant. I dont use google earth as there are others that will do that.

I installed graphene on my phone and got rid of android.

They can block me if they want on youtube but it came with consequences for them as well. They are getting next to no data from me now.

Google has its fingers in some many pies that the net is weird without it and that should be warning.

Lazy programmers call fonts, scripts and code snippets from google. Cool for them as it is less work. But in those code snippets are the means to snoop on users as that ability is built into scripts.
