Not exactly "action," but the Divine Comedy manga is pretty cool. Especially since the mangaka was clearly emulating the Dore woodcut illustrations and the English scanlators went out of their way to preserve the original meter.

The Saga of Tanya the Evil would be my suggestion (although I haven't read the manga specifically, but the Light Novel is excellent and the anime was pretty good).
