"Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World" - best ending of all the "end of the world" movies :P
Excellent suggestions.
"Logan's Run" encapsulates a good bulk of the OP's request, too. It's an amazing movie. A bit dated, but really good sci-fi.
For any that haven't seen it that also like science-fiction:
"Forbidden Planet" (1956)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0049223/
Yes, that's Lesley Nielson.
One can consider this a "Star Trek" sort of prequel...

Anyone see the similarities with a standard Star Trek episode plot? :)
They Live
Miracle Mile (1988)
Watched this ones ages ago, can't remember most of the show.
It is extremely weird... with some kind of "avante guarde" bit, too. Lots of scenes in a big white room. Donald Pleasance is in it, though, IIRC, and does a great job as does the headliner, Robert Duvall.
It's a good science fiction movie about an oppressive dystopic society. It should be interpreted for what it is, though, and not necessarily a movie produced for pure entertainment value.
It's also a bit of social commentary during the rise in the popularity of certain popular, mood-altering, prescription drugs of the day. ie: Valium, etc. There's themes of social conformism and State dominance, too, reaching far past modern sensibilities. (IMO)
