Should I report my old boss to HR?
I don't wanna report him because I still consider him a friend. With that out of the way, I'm beyond ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tired of him asking if I got laid yet. He's been asking that for four years. I'm tired of feeling like an absolute failure of a man every time he asks because I'm not willing to hump everything that moves. If I was going to find a woman that was going to put up with my stuttering and social awkwardness, I would have already.

I would have simply told him that it's none of his business.

I'm not sure which country you are in, but as an Senior HR manager in Australia, if his behaviour is making you uncomfortable then you have three options:

1. Put up with it,
2. Tell him to stop
3. Report him.

My recommendation would be to express your annoyance with him asking, and just let him know (as a friend) that you don't feel like discussing your personal life or the girls you're seeing with him.

If you're not comfortable with that, or he doesn't stop, then yes, make a complaint. At the end of the day, if a friend isn't willing to acknowledge and respect your request to stop doing something that's making you uncomfortable, then they're not a friend.

On a side note, you not having found someone you want to settle down with or get serious with, is not a reflection on you, or an indication of you being a failure. Never let anyone tell you otherwise.

might be time for a new job, rather than rock the boat. it doesnt sound like you have the emotional armor to deal with the fallout after reporting him. no offense intended but you're kidding yourself if you think he won't find out who tattled.

trust me, if he's high enough rank, HR won't do a thing to him, as part of the nucleus of the company - he may also outrank HR.

you should decide right now if you need this job, or you have plan b job ready first. in case things go sideways

just my thought on the matter, take it or leave it.

He's the superintendent for the sanitation crew during 3rd shift in the factory I work in I think

weigh out the risks properly for yourself, and make sure the juice is worth the squeeze.
Lowkey your boss has a crush on you. It's time to date him.

Yes, you are a failure. Not in sense of being getting laid, but placing boundaries between you and boss. If you consider him a friend, just tell him to stop asking that.

Right?! :Clarisse_playful:
That's about the only conclusion I have managed to come up with..

Alright, jokes aside.. Although that may not be a joke in reality-
Just tell him to stop; He's gonna respect that, if he's truly your friend as you're mentioning.

sure go for it.
He probably keeps asking because sómeone's gotta have some luck, and clearly it ain't him.
You do know, OP, what your old boss is doing is male-on-male SEXUAL HARASSMENT.

You could probably sue the ♥♥♥♥ out of the company.

I would consult for free with a proper attorney that handles verbal sexual harassment cases.

no i think it's better to just ask hr. it's their job to deflect suits, and if you take advantage of that you can get a lot more of what you want out of it with a lot less trouble.
