Body Positivity - A toxic movement?
Is the body positivity movement causing more harm than good?
Does body acceptance enable people to have unhealthy habits?

Because the paleocons were pushed aside by the neocons who were quite happy to sell out the system as their loyalty was to another.

That along side demographics, the which groups vote for what map is instructive, and its why democrats and rinos love invasion.

Like I noted above. Totally programmed reactions.

I'm for body positivity as a person should not feel ashamed of their body, especially if their biological makeup simply deters them from a stereotypical "fit" body. Everyone simply has different body shapes and sizes.

That's true.

Learning love and acceptance is fundamental to a healthy mind.

Many young men and women have lost themselves to narcissistic behaviour.

The story of Narcissus still rings true today.

Can be both good and bad.

The health issues and justification for bad habits is the bad, obviously.

Taking power away power from people that use physical appearance as a topic to bully people is good. Mean comments become way less hurtful when you know most people don't share the views as the bully.
It does more harm than good because it actively promotes unhealthy lifestyles.

How it started...

"I am missing a limb/in a wheelchair/have a condition that I cannot help. I should still seek to be the best I can an accept myself despite what I cannot help.

How it's going

"If you are a woman less than 200 lbs you aren't healthy! effff your beauty standards! YAAAASSSS TESS HOLIDAY! SLAAAAAY QUEEEN! I SHOULD NEVER HAVE TO TRY AND IMPROVE MYSELF BECAUSE IF YOU DON'T THINK I AM PERFECT WHEN I AM BEING AN OBJECTIVELY HORRIBLE HUMAN BEING YOU ARE OPPRESSING ME!"

The self esteem movement was a mistake.

We should encourage good health. Not saying you have to be a body builder. Just take care of yourself.

My friend was super fat and we worked out to the point where he isn’t “as fat” anymore. Went from 300 to 230.

I remember a video I saw of this sobbing land whale smash her scale because she couldn't stand the anxiety of seeing it and people thinking it was a healthy exercise for her to do.

An unhealthy population is easier to manipulate and control.

Promoting obesity is not much different than promoting type 2 diabetes.

Should you be comfortable in your own skin? Yes. Should you be fat? No.

its pretty toxic yeah. being overweight is bad for your health, no matter how clean you eat.

I dont think either is very 'healthy', and promoting both extremes 'lots of fat vs lots of muscle' is silly to begin with
This body positivity movement reminds me of when people thought smoking cigarettes was healthy.

People shouldn't be so hard on themselves. I think body positivity spits on the concept of physical perfection which doesn't exist to begin with. It spits on the plastic surgery and filters used to make people look like caricatures. It allows for forgiveness and patience, kindness and acceptance of what cannot be changed. In this way, it's awesome. I have seen that those who are sometimes a part of this movement do end up working toward getting fit, healthy or losing some amount of weight in their own time. I think all of these things are wonderful. Honestly, there is room for all. I would hate to see a world where everyone looked the same, were the same size, same body type. That's not how life is meant to be.

Look at what this movement has done to the world. People are unhealthier than ever and proud of it.
