So, Matrix seems to be rebooted, I wonder about Matrix 5 ..
That's the only reason there was a Matrix 4 at that time. Cause for some reason that's what the movie prod companies thought selled.
You know there's no hope for Matrix 5 right? How is it ever gonna be taken seriously again?
Here's all 4 movies user scores. They ran the IP into the ground.
IMDB
8.7, 7.2, 6.7, 5.7
Metacritic
8.9, 7.5, 5.0, 3.9
Ask yourself. What do you remember from Matrix 2 or 3. That's what makes good movies. But that's not what movie companies are making right now. I wish they just put the thing on the shelf for another decade until they figured it out. The Martian was before Star Wars Rogue One, X-Men Apocalypse and all these other click bait movies that came out since.
I dug up the cool video on the box set. Movies way deeper than I thought after watching this. Not a lot of memorable scenes nor is part 2 or 3 mentioned in this video, which is why they got such low ratings, 2, 3 and 4 were cash grabs, that's what I beleive. The box set has 10 discs of stuff, 3 of which are the movies.

The Matrix ended with The Matrix Online storyline.
The first one was fun.
The second one was... OK.
The theater didn't burn down during the third one.
The Matrix "series" is based on "let's make a wacky movie that's already been troped to death, but we'll just keep repeating giant rug-pulls for an hour and people will think it's amazing."
"Hey everybody! Look! Nothing that happens really matters because, presto-change-o, it was "The Matrix" all along! Again!"
I enjoyed a little of the exploration of the AI's setting, but there was never any need for a fourth money-grab. This one... I find it hard to believe that Hollywood is going to allow any director to actually try to build something worthwhile in this setting. So, it'll likely be a reboot with a ginormous cast full of people that couldn't possibly survive in real-life, let alone The Matrix. During production, at least one of them won't be able to handle their sudden stardom and will be charged with some heinous deviant crime and get sent off to an asylum.
I really don't see the point at all, especially with The Matrix IP. There is no place it can go as long as everyone expects nothing in the story to matter... A "Matrix" movie from the PoV of an AI? Can that work and still be comprehensible?
