Germany is legalizing Marijuana
German lawmakers have voted to approve legislation that will federally legalize a limited amount of recreational cannabis.

This is a milestone as it makes Germany the third European Union member state to legalize cannabis for personal use, following Malta and Luxembourg.
The legislation allows adults in Germany to possess and use cannabis, as well as grow it at home.
This will become effective on April 1, 2024.

Good for them. Toke it up.

There isn't anything good about it.

Nah. It’s fine. Don’t worry. No one gonna kick your door down and forcibly clam bake your bedroom.

The boogie man’s bong won’t hurt you.

And in related news, sales of Doritoes in Germany have shot up 300% in the past several hours.
We´re more into Oreos with extra choco cover though, as we´re sweet people. But we wouldn´t say that in public, because our image would be in danger...
That sort of thing fascinates me, for real.
How snack food varys from country to country.

Pretty sure I misspelled that.

It also has a lot of benefits for those who don´t like to drink a beer after work. I mean in a country in which that after-work beer has a cutified term, and is seen as totally normal by the majority. Or a country in which alcohol isn´t seen as a drug to begin with.

In a typical sized supermarket here You´ll have one longer shelf with chips, doritos and whatnot. One with cookies of all kind. One with chocolate, and one with other kinds of sweets, like gummi bears, and licorice. But there are also all the bakeries, which offer all kinds of cakes and pastries which is also sweet. Or in the fridge these yogurts, and all kinds of pudding - which are sweet. Or ice cream.

If i should take a guess, doritos aren´t that popular here, because You need to dip them into something to make the most out of it, and because they crumble a bit, so there´s more dirt - and because they´re louder to eat. Also they aren´t available for too long. Can´t say when. I first tried them when i saw them in an US supermarket, as i like to try new things. I asked myself why we don´t have them - and shortly after they were there, but got old fast. I´d prefer usual chips if anything in that direction. They´re probably popular in cinemas, same as popcorn, which isn´t really a thing here outside of cinemas or certain fairs as well.

Yeah, if you hate freedom.

I am actually quite torn on the news tbh.
I am drug free today for two reasons, one is remembering a full blown psychosis and the feeling of a spider eating trough my eyeball when i have severe cravings , pure will and honesty about the use.
The other is actually lack of proximity to purchase, as i moved as far away from where i usually got it as possible to make it even harder for my self to slip.

I started to smoke weed when i was 12 and moved on to meth when i was 23 for one reason alone.
I wanted to get away from the world as usual, but the only thing i could get my hands on was meth, since there had been two major raids on the weed import, leaving the whole city dry that summer.
So if it had been legalised back then, and i could have bought it "anywhere", or grown it my self, i would probably have continued to smoke it to this day, but i would also (most likely) never have moved on to meth that really messed up my life ...

So i dunno ... A functional stoner on a slow spiral downwards or a former meth head with a ton of baggage on an even slower climb upwards ...

Another blow for Big Pharma.

This is not a milestone but a building block to promote the global dumbing down of lower social classes in Germany too. What responsible state releases substances for its population that cause oxygen deficiency in the brain?

I see this as a malicious instrument of power to the detriment of the young German population. This government is no longer acceptable.

I´m actually unsure what the perquisites are, to get certain licenses. They also had an idea in the past, when they legalized it for medical use - that You need to verify that You successfully grew it for like 20 years, which only the pharma industry could in foreign countries. Somehow like that. It´s never a straight forward solution if German politician come up with something. There´s usually a catch - and usually a catch which makes the solution create more problems. And then after a while it´s like: "See? We were always against it. It was wrong to do it at all.", and nothing is said about solving it in another way.

Alcohol is a poison yet you can easily buy it essentially everywhere.

Tobacco’s/nicotine is readily available for most any time they wanna buy it.

Both of those have physical addiction properties related to abusing them as well.

No reason to allow more other poisons.

A big mistake, it will just make drug problems even worse.

What we need is to understand why peoples do drugs and find other solutions than drugs for them. My guess is, drugs are cheaper than therapists and most mental problems are pushed under a carpet using drugs or alcohols instead of proper treatments or solutions. So, healing peoples correctly could greatly diminish all this I think.

You can get water poisoning if you drink enough of it.

Personal responsibility and self control are important things to teach the youth. I’d start there if you’re worried about them.

You only need to look at american cities to see that legalizing soft drugs is bad.
