Damn I guess I'll have to move onto tortilla chips from now on
Frankly i may never have another chance to sample American food again, so i plan to go crazy. there is going to be nothing but powder on the floor in that pottery shop by the time i'm done!
By the time i get back i'm gonna get back in shape my way.
if not near a major large supermarket the choices on offer for fruits and veg can be bit limited.
But i've taken to buying cheap carrots as my go to snack from the local co-op.
And back on a limited diet of pasta and simple vegetables no time for sauces maybe tinned tuna added in after pasta and vegetables are cooked then I apply mayo.
Processed food is too easy to get a hold of and the authorities are very lenient on what is considered food.
A nice pizza on that fridge shelf in the shop probably has a good amount of none food in it.
so that £5 is not going into those toppings that look healthy its going marginally into them and more into whatever they can do to bulk out the pizza base and other processed parts on it and the rest obviously into someones profit.
Sedentary lifestyles
Less expensive food options that are typically the worst options
Obviously the second part is far more people have jobs where you sit down all day, it was far harder to become obese when you had to work 16 hour days in a field if you wanted your family to eat over winter.
Humans have evolved to care far more about under eating and starving than overeating (and far, far more human lives have been lost to famine and malnutrition than from the reverse), so it shouldn't be a surprise that there isn't much inbuilt protection against it in our genetic makeup, whereas some other species that don't need to survive harsh winters, or have to limit their weight to succeed in capturing prey, are more likely to avoid obesity in situations of glut.
The American diet use to be high in fats, turned into low fat products with sugar or artificial sweaters. Plus with the highly processed foods, less fibre is in the diet. This slows the metabolism.
Most drink empty carbs and high levels of sugar.
The body naturally takes sugar as it's first quick source energy, then the carbs next. Surplus carbs end up as fat content for reserve. Even exercising has a low impact due to this effect, as you have to burn through sugars/carbs before even getting to the fat reserves.
Next humans have become a lot more idle and sit around more, playing video games, watching tv, sitting in vehicles to go from and to work, and sitting at work, etc. Sitting burns less than even sleeping does.
If this is your current case: To correct this you need a low carb/sugar diet, less processed foods and swap sugary drinks (including coffee extras, alcohols, energy drinks and even fruit juices as they have natural sugars) for a lot more water intake. Something similar to a Keto diet. A diet itself is a myth and you merely need a calorie deficit with whatever you do (while keep some amounts of fats/sugars/carbs and higher levels of protein/fibre), yet it can fast track the burning of fat and boosting the metabolism, if you do daily walks / exercise too.
This is however not just a 1 day thing... rather you should create a daily habit, you can stick with, actually enjoy and at least support it 5-6 days out of each week. The direction it's stacked mostly towards you will lean towards achieving. Visa versa.
makes them really addicting where you make a habit of getting the same thing
I'm actually losing weight, But i put obesity down to lack of exercise and eating too well.
Try this, If you need something like bread or milk, Walk to your local dairy, Don't take the car.
