whats off about it

I don't care. Ass Creed has always been a franchise with mediocre gameplay and tons of filler.

Unity would like to have a word.

I made it through the first 3 minutes and then skip skimmed the rest. The video pretty much just reinforced my attitude on the subject. It's all incredibly automated and looks easy.

*shrugs*

So, this means that if "yasuke event" hadn't happened, there wouldn't have been a samurai-themed AC game at all, from UBISOFT???

I wonder, didn't all other Samurais have an interesting story in themselves? Or the point is,... that,.... They were "ONLY" Japanese, so, they were not interesting enough???

Personally, (and i am not a Japanese), i want to play a Samurai game as a True Japanese. Just as i want to play an Aztecs game as a Mesoamerican Man/Woman.

What will happen now? I began to worry about Max Payne Remake. Who will be portrayed as Max Payne?

Anyhow, what i want to see is the moment when a Ubisoft employer typed "Black Samurai" to Google and pressed on the enter button.

There is a corrupt political agenda out there which want to mix EVERYTHING you can think of; races, genders, cultures, religions and history.

I miss the old Ubisoft sometimes.

Stop buying recycled AAA slop then.
I thought it jumped the shark with pirates. Then it went to Egypt, Vikings, etc.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood was the last good AC.

Same reason Ubisoft pushed the white saviour archetype in a foreign land for many years.

They think that's what will sell.

What games are these? IIRC, Far Cry 3 had that criticism, but that's about their only game I can think of that that applies to, but I'm not well versed on Ubisoft.

The majority of the Far Cry games feature protagonists catering to an American audience. In Far Cry 4, for instance, you played as a native who had been Americanized. Assassin's Creed Unity opted for British English audio over French language audio.

Those aren't White saviors, though.

Historically, the Creed is a breakaway group of the Ismaili branch of Shia Islam.

Ubisoft took the story away from the Hashashin and made Ezio the star.

It was only very recently that they revisited the Middle East.

Yes, but Ezio was in Italy....you can't be a "White savior" if you're a White guy in a White country....lol.

While it's not the same as the Far Cry games where an "American" man liberates minorities and third world countries, it is rewriting the history.

Similar to what Ubisoft are doing here with Yasuke.

I don't think there's any issue with it as it's historical fiction and the have been many stories of white men in foreign lands.

The Last Samurai and Shogun for example.
