Yeah.
The goal probably was to make the player feel hopeless, trapped, to envoke terror within them by limiting the options, but.. That didn't work for me.
On the contrary, it was the exact opposite; I can't say the same about the rest of the game, because those were the parts that I have enjoyed despite the desire to enjoy the castle. I have felt determined to get as much out of the castle as possible, but in the end I haven't managed to get anything out of it.
The adventure has ended way too early on, of course near the time when I have started to have fun.
The rest of the game was fun, but.. It was no longer the horror genre of a videogame for me.
If I had to recommend one, I will do it with this one:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/597760/Yuppie_Psycho_Executive_Edition/
The Hills have Eyes
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre
IT
(etc)
That's a hard one to pick just one out of them all.
EDIT: Oh game... I misread before.
The Evil Within 2
Resident Evil Village
The Dark Pictures Anthology
Outlast
Silent Hill
Alan Wake
Dead Space
Little Nightmares
Again hard to pick just one.
It's really difficult for me to pick one, so I'll got with Silent Hill 3, and Resident Evil 7
But Silent Hill is also fantastical.
