Should I watch it in release order or chronological? I've seen the Marvel movies and I saw that they make more sense when you watch them in release order than in chronological order, what should I do?

I've never been a fan of Star Wars (I think it's meh) but the quality of the films is in direct correlation with their releases. Meaning every film that was released was worse than the one before it.

I'd watch in order of release personally. Especially since the first 3 movies chronologically are a snooze fest about space politics.

If you watch it chronological then you ruin the nice reveal in 5, of course if you are already not spoiled with it by massive fandom and memes in social media already.

All you really need to watch is 4 and 5. The rest are optional and catering to very specific tastes.

I suppose it doesn't really matter which you start with.
The one that's first made, or the "prequel" trilogy.

Either way, you can skip the flimsy imitations from disney.

Ep 6 is for people who wanted a Dysney happy ending. Ep 1 is for people with mommy issues. Ep 2 is for marvel movies fans. Ep 3 is for people with OCD. Rogue One is for people who wanted Ep 4 and Ep 5 back. Ep 7 is for people who enjoyed JJ's StarTrek. Ep 8 is for feminists. Kinda like that.

I would watch them in order of release date for the sake of context. The original trilogy is what established the feel and mythos of Star Wars and what made it popular. It's the pure essence of Star Wars.

Yes, great moment in movie history ruined by social media lol. Imagine how it was first time it was released in movie theaters. Never again.

Also keep in mind that Lucas remastered the 4, 5 and 6 so they don`t look like some 70s and 80s movies and have some added modern special effects. Many people actually wish he would have not bothered with adding stuff.

Order of release should be fine, from 1 to 6 + Rogue One. The Corporate dumpster fire Disney infested movies after that you can assume it's a "surprise mechanics" like EA gamble boxes, so in other words not worth the time.
