LAN gaming was pretty fun though. If someone was an ass, you could just fire them four years later...
The younger generations would lose their minds though, including most of GenZ.
- The last few years I was in school: All assignments submitted online
- The local bank? Near impossible to get human help on-site, and only during ordinary work hours (when I work), and you probably have to wait an hour or so for help if you just drop in, otherwise you have to get an appointment first. Also, if the "internet bank" goes down, it apparently also effects auto-payments, so I'd have to do like in the old days and show up at the bank to pay my regular bills (which are all on separate days of the week. Ugh).
The main applications we use 90% of the time at my workplace are internet based.
PS Payment systems in nearly all stores... does it work via the internet? If so, good luck buying stuff the first few weeks until they get around to the old-fashioned way
...
Apart from all of that. I guess I have to read books more often (Now I'm down to about one a month, which isn't much)
Smart doesn't technically require "internet" though, just a router and the app usually; As long as there's a wireless connection between App and Appliance, it'll work. It'll only be when trying to access the Appliance from 50 miles away that won't work.
It's much like a wireless car key really.
Ofcourse, no banking, payments, transfers etc.. would cause some serious disruption, not to mention people being unable to buy food since lots of people have no physical money anymore.
If this did happen, it would be riots when people start getting desperate for food....
1. Times are different now, you cannot just turn 2024 into 1970 instantly like if is magic...
2. You are not the same one as 20/25 years ago, change in most aspects of yourself is INEVITABLE, just becuase you did not used internet in the past does not mean nowadays becuase you alredy got used to use something better (internet in this case) and you are not going to be able to just be able to go back to something primitivo...
Also is funny to me those responses I sometimes see that go like "I would go outside more!" acting like if internet has them prisoned on their rooms or tied up to their bed... Nothing stops you from going outside if you want to and convincing ppl is not hard either (even as a social anxious person myself...
Also I cannot take seriously ALL these ppl that are like "internet is unnecesary" or "I do not use/need internet" BUT YOU SEE THEM CONSTANTLY ON SOCIAL MEDIA
And little reminder that this website is as social media as Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, etc... combined...
Nothing stops you from doing these uhh... "other things" now, why are you not doing them now huh?
If you think 30 years old is not old... 🙄
