Looking for games with extensive weapon customization
Price doesn't matter and genre isn't too important. It can be guns or physical weapons or anything else, as long as there is good depth to it. Both in terms of changing the statistics of the weapons as well as the appearance.

Fallout 4

The Borderlands games have a massive amount of randomized weapons. But you need a mod to customize them yourself.

Some multiplayer fps games with sci-fi or magic themes in it

Like CoD, Warface, etc

Seconding Fallout 4 and also adding Fallout: New Vegas onto that. Both games also have very strong user modding scenes so if you don't mind modding your game you can add even more weapon customization.

I've also heard Ghost Recon Wildlands or Breakpoint (the previous entry) are good for that although I haven't played them myself, but I have friends who are fans of them.

I dunno if this interests you, but LGR did a video on it years ago. Besiege is a physics based building game in which you construct medieval siege engines. Battle your way through a 54 level single player campaign, unleash chaos with your friends in multiplayer, create your own worlds with the level editor, customize your game with mods through the workshop.

Borderlands gets boring real fast. Enemies are all bullet sponges, no matter how stronger this new gun you picked up allegedly is.

Thanks all for recommendations. Will check them out
I'd like to know too.

Found an interesting online shooter game a few years back where you could modify the gun quite a bit:
different barrel, stock, scope, etc.

Unfortunately the game didn't have proper hack protection..

I kinda wish there were more games where you could modify a gun on that scale.
Instead of just tacking an invisible powerup on it.

Me too. It's hard to find games like this. And even then, often times the modifications are linear and eventually one combination becomes the best over others. I like it more when there are advantages and drawbacks so that there's variety

heh, in that game I made an AK sniper/assault. It was way too OP in my hands.
Had to change it up so I stopped camping.

So I turned it into a short range bullet spitter, small barrel, easy stock, quick loader, etc.
For run & gun tactics.

Same gun, but by customizing it, a completely different use.
Something with that amount of customization is just great.
It's old, but MGSV had this. The components genuinely affected the way the weapons handled recoil and aiming. (I haven't played many military-themed games since then, so can't say how the depth compares to more recent games.)

Borderlands if you dont care abt realistic wpn. Wpn whose bullet can ricochet of the wall; or split into multiple bullet and each bulllet split into more bullets. Wpn that turn into a robot after each reload. Grenades that home to your enemies, or become a blackhole that suck enemies in.

It was really fun to experiment with different wpn and builds in borderlands, i find any other fps games so boring now

Not a problem, I'm willing to play older games as well as new games. It's not how recent the game is that matters, but how good the gameplay is
Armored Core 6 is quite customizable with a lot of different options for movement, weapons, support etc. Not the weapons itself though, which are part of the mechs, but you could call the mech itself a weapon I guess? Not exactly sure what you are looking for. Everything is directly reflected in the visuals.

Actually, that game looks quite interesting. Thank you for the suggestion
