Ads played results in a share to the creator, or otherwise ads done within the video, usually the 2nd as adblockers are becoming more of a tool for regular people. Playing the whole video helps statistics and recommendations, but these have nothing to do with Steam.
So no, they don't get paid based on views alone, which makes sense, there's no incentive for YT to pay you unless you're generating ad revenue for their ad sponsors.
No worries. I was simply asking if anyone here knew the answer. If people don't then that's fine by me. I have no interest in sparring.
