I use it for when I am painting cars or dealing with dangerous automotive chemicals. The full face shield style is great because it doesn't kill peripheral vision like the cheapy crappy military style ones do and even has a perscription glasses option... It is also the only respirator/gasmask I ever owned that I can still talk to people with it on, all the old mouth and nose only paint respirators made me sound like a vibrating smurf.
It is apparently a CBRN mask so it would work in SHTF scenarios and even has an option for handgun caliber bulletproof applications... I guess in case a customer really doesn't like the work I did on his car. lol
Still, my mask remains a friend and I feel safer just having it on. Shame yours clearly isn't an M40, or I could give you some tips on proper fit.
