What are some outrageous laws or rules that you seen and how did they get written
for example
a "No drinking milkshakes in driveways" law was made because someone was drinking their milkshake in a driveway and accidentally spilled on it and slipped on his milkshake therefore dying because his brain got all shim shammed when they hit their head on the concrete of the driveway

To be honest allowing everyone to vote in America is kind of a dumb law.

Voting is an important process, even if it's not regulated as much as say "buying alcohol", why should anyone be given that power?

Many people don't know much about politics. Why should they have the ability to determine policy?

Because it's their country too.

A simple truth so many would like to forget or ignore.
In Oklahoma, you're supposed to have someone walking 10 paces in front of your motor vehicle ringing a bell to alert horses and their riders.

Let's produce a system by which only particular individuals can take part in, due to them meeting some arbitrary prerequisite and have this system also be responsible for directly effecting people who are involved within that nation even if they are able to use this system or not.
It wouldn't have to be an arbitrary prerequisite though, politics has a variety of sides and that's understandable, but why shouldn't there be at least a basic understanding of how our system works. With a lack of knowledge their voting pretty much just becomes who they recognize the most.

They'd vote for a can of Pepsi if there were enough tv ads telling them who to vote for.

People should be fined for not wearing a mask in public. If you don't have a mask, then don't go out. It's not difficult to understand. People are dying from asymptomatic morons going around not wearing masks and spreading the virus to those who are most at risk. The fines / arrests are acceptable considering the circumstances.

But they really should provide them masks as well... Slap a fine on them, arrest them if necessary, and hand them a mask.

So fine them, arrest them... And then give them a mask?

How about give them a mask FIRST and a warning instead of going all authoritarian/totalitarian on them, because some people are poor and cannot afford the masks, let alone fines and life ruining jail time, or they can't get masks because people are hoarding them or price gouging.

Though you sound like the type that would love martial law.

Well yeah, warnings are good for a first offense, but some people are repeat offenders. I agree that they should be given masks, but they should know better at this point anyway. The world is facing a pandemic, if they can't be bothered to stay inside, then that sounds like their problem. The price gouging was bad at first, but it's not that hard to get masks from one place or another currently. Price gouging is old news.

The easy way to solve the problem is to just... not go out into public, if you can't do so safely. If people do and get fined, then that's their own fault. Not sure why it's acceptable to put others health and safety at risk just because someone can't be bothered to get a mask.

But go ahead and make your assumptions, yeah I love martial law, woo-hoo. It certainly doesn't have anything to do with common sense or safety concerns. /s

Maybe it'd be better to apply your logic and just have everyone go around with no masks, let them cough on each other, let the people die, with no consequence or deterrence to stop it. You seem like the type that'd love that.

local cops once caught a guy laid naked in a roadside ditch stroking a rabbit in an extremely innocent manner, and arrested him for breach of the peace as they believed it was likely that a non-peaceful crime against a person or property was about to occur

i do not know if the rabbit was considered a person or property in this instance, or whether it was just a co-conspirator

You can laugh, but I was mocking your logic and assumption making, so... Lol?

I could ask where I mentioned anything about loving martial law, like you suggested, but instead I just mocked your assumption and came up with one of my own.
Here is a specific city law in the state of North Carolina. In the city of Asheville it is illegal for you to sneeze in city streets.

Ah okay... So it was really your logic then... I get it now.

Thanks for clearing that up dipwidget.
Got a whole website full of the world's stupid laws https://www.stupidlaws.com/

Most of these laws are still active and on the books and sometimes are even still enforced.

Sure its their country too, but if they don't care about the country enough to do some basic study about how it functions, why should they be allowed to vote? That's like saying the best person to work on your car isn't a mechanic, isn't someone who at least tried to google how to fix their car, it's the 6 year old because it's her car too.

If they're ignorant of how things work, they could really screw up the nation. Look at how many low information voters we have that don't even have basic understanding of simple political or economic terms like socialism.
