Netflix really wants One Piece to be their franchise.

The declining Hollywood seem to be aiming to compete with Japan seeing how anime popularity went off the charts in the Western world lately and are using One Piece to milk this.

Jump Festa 2024 announced a new One Piece anime remake that will be handled by Wit Studio and involve Netflix, exciting fans for a fresh and improved adaptation.

The remake aims to give the series a fresher approach, attract new anime fans, and rejuvenate its popularity, addressing pacing issues and making the story more concise.

It’s the final saga (I know it hurts) so will probably be over by the time they reached mid-way.

I honestly couldn't care less.

I haven't watched TV in many many years (I'm British so not Amiercan not that it really means much). I did try Netflix after my youngest daughter suggested it for the films I wanted.

I lasted one month.

I watched the films I wanted and tried out some of their "own" films - they were absolute ♥♥♥♥♥. Stuff that were clearly stuff that should be left as ideas or short stories.

So it doesn't surprise me they're after any old garbage or franchise they'll turn into garbage.

honestly im torn b/c

1 anything hollywood touches they taint horribly so it'll be ♥♥♥♥

2 probably best b/c the old one piece is heavily outdated vs the new style artwork etc.


just like they remade animes like sailor moon and junk for the modern age i'm not 100% against remaking them for the newer crisper animations styles

Didn't Japan ditch the Stupidity Market of America in like sometime around 2022?
Didn't Japan go back to making Anime enjoyable again?

I don't really know, I haven't seen anything New...

But there has been a lot of Discussions about older Anime again...



America has never been popular through Anime, & America has never gotten
the Material down, they couldn't do it without Wokims involved... There is a
huge fat chance that Wokism in American Culture will do any better with Anime...

I think the Creators of Cowboy Beebop have been the only American Company
to actually pull off a successful Anime that was better then the Japanese,
but they weren't the Original Creators, so it kinda doesn't really matter...

America has done far better jobs with American Animation,
mainly Disney & Pixar, but their Content has dwindled into
a crap whole in Today's terms of Animation & Live Movies / TV Shows...




NetFlix doing anything with Japanese Animation or Live Action?

Hasn't been successful yet, & they've done a few already,
But they don't understand the Material anymore then Disney does...
