One of the main nuances that's missing from the criticisms from other people, of that other guy, is that no, he's not "just" (ie. only) doing things to humiliate people, however, that doesn't mean that humiliation doesn't happen with how he (quite publicly) treats some of them.
Whether claiming that he only does that or that it doesn't happen at all, both positions are ignoring either the concept of "intent" or "totality". There's plenty a story in the world about someone spilling their drink on someone by "accident" or having a misunderstanding that is really hurtful & in either case, the end result is something that was not intended but happened regardless, and which was something that may have even been a result of recklessness that could have been avoided if the person who made the "accident" had just been being more mindful & communicative, and maybe not jumping to conclusions.
The irony is, to some extent, we see this same behavior from the people who are accusing someone of "just" doing something to humiliate people (ie. from the people who are accusing him), and of lying by denying any good that the accused will do. Which brings me to the other aspect of nuance. Even if being mean is actually intentional and not a misunderstanding or accident, it doesn't mean that someone can't have other attributes too, such as generosity.

...so, as far as I'm concerned with the matter, his generosity was never truly in question from me.
However, that still does not mean that I appreciate how he treats others.
...and I can reason, quite sensibly that if I see this and take issue with it, then others might be taking issue with the same thing as well, except some of those others might only consider the negative attributes and disregard all of the good attributes that the other person might have.

Some of the people whom he claimed doubted him were simply not very good at communicating and then were confused later because they're a little clueless about how what they say will be perceived by someone who sees the world VERY different from them and isn't trying to empathize optimistically with what they truly meant to convey - which is even an understatement for what potentially is someone intentionally misrepresenting everyone who does not show complete & unwavering devotion ...but only potentially / maybe.

Yeah I think a lot of that is down to a reflection of yourself and how you choose friends too.

I've got lots of friends on Steam and I seem to attract a lot of people that want to be friends, obviously based on what I say here.

Weirdly this means that the people I attract are straight up uncompicalted people who don't engage in silliness like that.
