I wanna go find whoever is going around telling all the world's edgelords that Christians believe Jesus was born on December 25th and that our faith positively hinges on it, and I wanna shake my finger at him.

Reading the Bible, it said at the time of his birth, that shepherds were living outdoors with their flock (i.e. camping outdoors among their sheep).
The thing is, in Israel, December was when the rainy season starts, and so was usually cold and rainy.
In December, shepherds aren't living outdoors, they're back in their homes with the flocks in their barns.

Plus, Caesar Augustus wouldn't have been stupid enough to make people trudge through muddy roads in cold weather in the winter to register for a census (Which was why Mary and Joseph were in Bethlehem to begin with).

Along with other areas of the book, it seems Christ was likely born in the autumn, probably around October.

Plus, Christ never commanded anyone to celebrate his birthday. Hence why the Bible didn't give the exact date.
He did command people to honor his death, which is why it was specific to when that happened.

Besides which, Christmas was around before Christ was on earth.
It started as the Saturnalia, a harvest festival for Saturn, Roman god of agriculture.
It was a 2-week festival featuring gift-giving, heavy drinking, and merry-making.

During that festival, around December 25 they included the Natalis Sol Invicti (roughly "Birthday of the Invincible Sun"), as sun worship was popular in Rome at the time.

And the festival ended on New Years with the festival to Janus, the two-faced Roman god of endings and beginnings. (And where the month of January gets its name from)

Centuries after Christ, some pagans decided to try and camouflage their festivals with a thin veneer of Christianity. And apparently succeeded.

I mean, I don't care what anyone does, but knowledge is power.

Loving your neighbor is an idiom from Leviticus 19:17-18 meaning you rebuke people who sin, like breaking sabbath, eat pork, or worship other gods🎄🎅🎃🐰. Not giving people kisses and hugs.

As for the date... um, it really has mattered.
Look at the Passover. Would it have been acceptable if anyone decided to celebrate the Passover 5 months after God commanded it to be done?

Not to mention that festival they tried to do in Exodus, where they made a gold calf and adapted an Egyptian holiday, trying to camouflage it with a thin veneer of Judaism?
They apparently failed.

So do you keep sabbath on friday evening or saturday morning? Also do you do the feasts in captivity or read deuteronomy 12 and 16 on why Passover and aotnement has to be done in the inheritance and not wherever you want?

Christianity has grafted itself onto existing pagan festivals everywhere . Here in Germany it was the winter solstice and the Ostara festival. Sometimes churches were built on old pagan places of worship in order to superimpose and reinterpret the memory. This was only partially successful.

First of all his name isn't jesus it's Yeshua. Read John 5:42-43 about that.

2nd of all, it doesn't matter and no one knows. Point is Christmas is a sin and you need to sotp worshipping it and focus on what God actually wants from his people, like keeping sabbath on saturday, abstaining from pork, and telling others to do the same
