Should I give up on movies?

I can't seem to find a semi-recent one that's not full of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

And I'm not talking about your typical Internet "it's not the greatest thing in the universe, therefore it's crap" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

I'm talking, oh look there's a closeup of a dude's naked butt for some moronic reason. Oh look, the G-D word for some moronic reason. Oh look, a sex scene for some moronic reason.

Last week I did a search on the Internet for good movies I haven't seen yet, oh yeah, Django Unchained, that's supposed to be good, got one second in, the top of the screen says nudity and I'm just like WHAT IS THIS ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. So I just didn't watch anything.

It's so dumb. The whole Internet will tell you it adds nothing to the movie. But they do it anyway.

It's really good and actually got me rather emotional towards the end

It's certainly not some super happy kids film or something, it's actually pretty dark

Currently reading Rendezvous with Rama. It's my fifth Arthur C Clarke novel. It's alright. All flash no substance (so far?) but the flash is fun anyway. I considered rereading The Count of Monte Cristo, since it's my favorite book. Buuuuuut it takes months to get through so I decided on something shorter.

It took me far too long to shake the first impression of the real world of literature left behind by all that total garbage they make you read in grade school. Freaking Great Expectations. Of Human Bondage. One Day in the Life of Ivan Whatevervich. UGHHHHH.

They even did this back in the ol' days!

Better give up on movies entirely. It's always been like this.

all films before 2010 and as early as 1931 the first king kong , casablanca and The godfather 1 and 2 and Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb and the first 3 original star wars and Jaws and E.T and Terminator 1 and 2 and Iran Man and Man of Steel some of the batman films and X-men films where good I could add more titles, these are prime examples

It seems yet another extended cut with restored footage was released after I got the collector's edition DVD set years ago. Quite annoying when they do that.
