I dunno, cooking fast over a flame sounds like exactly what I do with my grill. Unless, I suppose, you count the time it takes the charcoal to get a good flame going. That can take a p good while. But the result is worth it for sure.

The term barbecue makes me think of smoked meat. Like ribs or pulled pork. Or smoked turkey.

My kitchen cooker had a grill, heat is applied from above by an element. It's still grilling.
