I'll stick to my Unix-like consoles over your crapy M$ SpywareOS handhelds.
If only the Win 4 didn't put the left controls upside down.
Also, I'd preffer if even touchscreen counters were switched for physical keys, or at least had a keyboard tray somewhere.
I'm certain Wipeout has never been on Steam as it's a Sony property.
Psygnosis were the original creators of the game (which Sony acquired around the early PS1 days or before), and when they were shuttered it remained a Sony title.
Of course it's only been a recent thing with Sony pushing certain proprietary titles on here.
However, there are other games like Wipeout you can buy on other platforms. Games like Redout (I think it's called) is similar but I've yet to play it on here.
There's also Quantum Redshift back no the original Xbox and there's also an Xbox 360 game too (but I can't find it in my collection atm and I've forgotten the name - I'll edit it in if I remember).
More recently there's also Fast Racing Neo on the WiiU which had a rejig version "Fast RMX" on various platforms too.
not in any official manners and if nintendo could they would prevent peoples from dumping/transfering their own games from the switch and into their pc.
Because as a handheld, It's not the most portable thing. You need a carrying bag, or backpack for it, and the fairly thin design with large screen will make it prone to breakage. Compare that to their dedicated handheld consoles like the DS and GBA, which you can actually just slip into a pocket, take anywhere, and you know nothing is going to break. Those are great handhelds. You can't even do that with a Switch Lite.
If it was just a home console, you could save money on production not needing a screen, battery, not having to deal with crappy Joy Cons. You would also likely see things implemented into it as a home console that not even the dock has, like ethernet to connect to home networking because wi-fi is trash for gaming. Even the most ideal 5ghz connection close to your router is going to have heightened latency or drop outs from radio interference that just isn't there over an ethernet connection. Not to mention even a basic heat sink and a fan could get more consistent frame rates out of it at 1080p.
I'd rather have a more convenient to carry dedicated handheld, and something I can leave plugged into a screen and ethernet.
That's proper information that people can do something with. Everybody hates frame-drops, network latency, and things that aren't durable.
Thanks for explaining it. I appreciate it.
In the past I loved the GameCube, I loved the first Wii even more and back then I also hated computers (I still do not enjoy computers as much as I used to love my favourite consoles back then) so I was ok with the exclusivities situation back then. It made sense, I knew that a lot of great games were being developed and were VERY optimized simply thanks to that situation so I saw the good side of it too.
Durability is also a very important aspect of any product.
