Dutch election - What do you think about the result?

The Netherlands have now finished its election and the big winner was the political party Partij voor de Vrijheid (PVV) you could call the the freedom party, they are a far right populist party and you might know their leader Geert Wilders.

The party got 37 seats and is now the biggest party in the Netherlands and by far.
What do you think about this? what do you think will happen? Do you live in the Netherlands?

Personally I think it boils down to tension from immigration and anti EU movements. Dutch people seems to want a change from both. It will be interesting to see if a nationalistic wave hits Europe (one might argue it already have happened) over the next 6 years and what it might mean for the world and our current situations with wars.

I fear this might cause an actual division in the Dutch society and it might also spark less diversity understanding across the board.. There is no right or wrong, only actions and consequences if you ask me.. it will be interest to see what consequences this have.

Geert Wilders will now be nominated to form a coalition and this could be a rather long process and there is absolutely no guarentie that Wilders will become Prime minister.. but then again, it could also happen.. if that had been said 10 or 15 years ago, people would have laughed and said it would never happen.

Remember to be friendly towards eachother and accept that people are different in values and views. Please do not discriminate anyone.

If it turns out to be controlled opposition, i wouldnt be surprised though.

I would, cause that would not make sense at all. controlled by who? there is only 1 dude at control in PVV and that is Wilders, if he not in control than he best actor in human history.

I think they are genuine enough, but they will have a hard time, all parties to in a system like this, it is all about compromises after all.

Predictably, people are fed up with migration.

eu and usa are super expensive to live in and the goverments are not doing anything to fix it. the migration problem was created by eu not being able to protect its own borders

now they wonder why people are angry. i hope the eu will crumble

this is interesting:

im trying to form a cabinet with the result of election, which I always do
but this time I can't even get to form just 1 possible that is plausible.
so I am going to bet against the newspapers that we will have anything at all before chrismas and the formation will continue into 2024

unless pvv manage to scrape all the small parties together which will be hard if not impossible, he will have to form a cabinet with parties that are pretty large too and probably will not want what he wants, so good luck for whoever is going to have to figure this one out xd

edit: it is more plausible that other bigger parties form a cabinet and then pvv is still in opposition as 1 large party with a few smaller ones.
WIlders actually would love this, but it is very rare that the biggest party not have the prime minister. I think that only happened once in 1971

People often forget the positives of the EU as well (there are quite a few) but I reckon the real issue is the immigration issue and how its forced down the throat on some countries.

It may not be a coalition I voted for or support but any government is better than the total lack of governance or accountability we had with Mark "I have no active memory of this" Rutte.

I rememeber a study that showcased how many in the Dutch parliment, that had evening coffee and the number was extremely high.. I wonder if that affects judgement and sometimes the decisions made.

Let me make a prediction for how things will turn out assuming the PVV form a government:

1) None of their promises will come true because A) huge sectors of the economy and public sector will be reliant immigrants and B) they're probably illegal to enact anyway.

2) Then after years of failed leadership and a tanking economy, the PVV will promise tax cuts just before the next general election, in a desperate attempt to cling to power.

Explain how the economy and public sector rely on immigrants.

Erm... because the local population don't want to do the jobs the immigrants do.
