I don't know how seahorses swim though. They are literally sea creatures and they look even less capable of it than a real horse. Dang things look like they should sink down like a dart.
All animals were.
its not how we normally move so an untrained person who tries to move their body to a standing position will sink.
horses due their massive lungs.. just float... they land feet first in water.. they will float even doing no movement...
whats more these lungs are such good buyancy that a horse on its back in water.. will rotate upright naturally.. by gravity.
now as it comes to swimming.. humans spend energy just staying afloat.. but our hands and feet are better suited to provide trust.. once you learned how..
horse legs are less suited.. but the horse spends 0 energy staying afloat... and has much more massive muscles to start with.. it helps the horse also that this "paddle" movement is very close to its natural trottling movement on land..
Plus horses love water
