This i how it works - science is the BEST method of determining reality. It tests, and repeatedly tests until it can predict an outcome with regularity. Then it publishes said tests for everyone else to pick over, test themselves and find holes in.

If it stands up then it becomes a THEORY - the highest pinnacle it can reach.

They do actually. Mainly due to the tribal security and religious impulse, along with programming from the media and school system. To say nobody thinks this way or expresses as much is not an accurate description of reality.
