The Post Harris/Walz 2024 thread
"Somehow Palpatine returned"

For 'reasons,' maga republicans chose to write the next chapter of american political history by aping the plot device of the worst of the Star Wars films.

*Donald Trump is a convicted felon and adjudicated rapist.

Say you're a free speech absolutist and share such "funny" authoritarian jokes.
Until someone posts a joke that hurts your fee fees, then you ban thenm and demonstrate you're not so into free speech after all.

Isn't that THE best authoritarian joke of all?
Nope. I'm from a generation that values humor and understands it. I laugh at jokes at my expense and welcome them. Always have. In fact, they are among my favorite jokes and we need more of them. Not everyone has extremely thin skin and is emotionally immature. That's a modern Leftist thing.
Then please do tell me why the majority of comdeians over history around the world have been on the left or centrist versus the relative few on the right?

Because as ever you're talking about your perception from a narrow viewpoint.

That isn't how the world works.

Well for one Horrormaven quoted Hooch and not you when they responded that could be one of the key evidences in this.
I guess comedy and quote features are beyond the understanding of the Far Left?

Where did I say most comedians were right? What I said was comedians hate wokeness and Leftism (vs liberalism) which focuses on political correctness and wokeness prevents people from understanding comedy. Please read more carefully.

You seem to be so ruffled right now that you aren't paying attention to what people are saying nor who is responding to whom. Slow down. Maybe take a break, play a game, touch grass, get a snack. Lower your heart rate a bit. Then come back and re-read the exchanges. You'll see all the mistakes you made from being extremely anxious about all this.

I guess you need to go look up people like Monty Python then, or Rik Mayall, Ben Elton, and so on.

Becase yet again, through your narrow American view, the world don't work how you think it does.

You said you're from a generation that values .....

and then you finish that statement with
That's a leftist thing.

So I included some established respected comedians THAT ARE LEFT.

So sorry but you did say that.

Reminds me of the comedian...Russel something...he's an Indian guy whose main comedic theme is making fun of peoples races, and watching his shows are fun to watch because the crowd desperately...DESPERATELY wants to be made fun of. Because they can laugh at the albeit racist but often true perception of this comedic genius.

Remember one cannot give offense, they can only take it.

Again, read more slowly.

This is what I said:

Not everyone has extremely thin skin and is emotionally immature. That's a modern Leftist thing.

The last sentence is referring to the previous. That is, people having extremely thin skin and being emotionally immature is a modern Leftist thing.

Having thick skin and enjoying dark humor and comedy is as non-Leftist thing.

*Audible gasp from everyone reading off-topic
*Someone drops something that's glass and it shatters.
*Total silence in off-topic except for a baby crying in the background.

"Did the that man just mention Monty Python? That movie full of hate-speech that's akin to Mein Kampf and literally supports the genocide of marginalized groups.

Bro, do better.

Trans rights are human rights. Monty Python is no okay and people like John Cleese should be canceled and apologize for their clearly not funny and hateful content.

I loved him in Drop Dead Fred, but its quite a problematic movie nowadays dont you think?

I mean he's very sexist to the mother even lookin under her skirt at one point and shouting COBWEBS! Or when he does it to another lady and says NO PANTIES NOOOO PANTIES! and then shoots steam out of his ears.

Is comedy like that even allowed today in the UK?

The Democrat neighbors I had all moved when their property tax went up 60% in 2023 due to schools needing more money for the illegal immigrant kids.
*They can not sell their houses. Been on the market for months and months.:steamhappy:
I only have 2 Democrat neighbors left. hahahaha Thanks Joe & Kamala!

Cool beans and again utterly insular and doesn't remotely equate to outside the US.

I employ a load of volunteers every year of various ages and abilities. Our youngest people are always the hardest working and we've had almost no problems over the years with them.

Given that setting up a festival, campsite and dealing with masses of people is no small taks, they always handle it fine.

It's almost like this is nonsense.

SO he says that - got any actual indpendent peer reviewed evidence to back it up?

Comedy like that is being phased out by the woke. Wokists love their censorship and love the idea of them controlling other people's behavior when it comes to art--unless the artist poops or pees or throws their feminine hygiene product on a canvas. Then it's fine and "true art."

If it doesn't relate to outside the US, why are non-US comedians saying the same thing?

And who said that young people in your anecdotal example aren't hard working? What are you even talking about?

Please read more carefully, stay on track.
