Have been enjoying the new Cattle Decapitation album. I never really listened to them in the past because they sounded kinda boring, but their last two albums were solid:

I don't know if it's just me. But I wanna play songs that are not so down tuned and distorted. Shredding leads and fast rhythm playing are were I like to sit for metal. Like AC/DC, Judas Priest, Megadeth, Static-X, Slayer. Just to sum it up. That's a good thing though. Cause it's like ice cream. You got a lot of flavors.

To be honest the video you linked sounds like Judas Priest from the Juggulator era.

I am just assuming at this point. But is the mandrake project supposed to be something that has the lead singer of Judas Priest in it Rob Halford? like from the Halford Live CD. The one you love to hate. I think they sound amazing as a duo.

I'm in my 20s but my best friend is older and like 52 so he's shown me a TON of old music, and taught me about old cars

so now my favorite metal band is either metallica or megadeth. it was metallica for a long time.. and my favorite car is a 1970 chevelle

I've listened to tons & tons of old metal music though. I like all of the old major bands to be honest

IMO?

Metal is pretty much dead... it's a shell of what it was...

Except for in Japan where it's always a bit lagging behind... and that can be a good thing

I love metal, but I realized recently that I have an old man’s taste in it. Looking through the metal section at the record store I can’t even recognize 10% of the bands. Stuff like Sabbath, Priest, Maiden, Dio, Megadeth, Metallica have been more my wheelhouse. Some prog metal too. I have been trying to branch out a bit though. Dreadnought and The Ocean are a couple of smaller/newer bands whose work I enjoy, though to be honest I’m not crazy for scream vocals.

I had to learn everything about aluminium and alloys when I got trained. I remember 1 large and thick schoolbook was just about aluminium only

also have knowledge of other light metals and some of steel.
metal music, not so much :P
