New fable games protagonist is eurgh. I like fable, but they could have made her not actively ugly?

With lara croft they literally got rid of anything that made her 'sexy', and made her so plain now.

Apparently having curves is offensive. And 'representation matters'. OK what about representing women who have boobs and butt's but still want to be outlandishly badass?

The standard is still like such for men and no one complains about it. Its so frustrating :(.

Examples: Joanne dark, lara croft, Regina from dinocrisis.

I'm just gonna edit this because I've had to r/whoosh so many people:
'Don't play the game'
Not my point at all. I still enjoy games, I'm not butt hurt about a character being ugly or not attractive. I'm complaining about the lack of strong powerful but also independent and sexually liberated characters in the industry. Think Lara Croft Tokyo level, where she hides dual pistols in her garter and kicks ass.

'Play 18+ games'
I'm not after porn. I'm after a strong female character that can act as a role model. I remember being like 7-8 running around in my swimming costume with water pistols pretending I was Lara Croft. Being excited about growing older, and having the woman parts she had but also being as cool and badass as her. I used to buy the guide books which had the risqué pictures at the back and I thought she was so cool and strong and free thinking.

Most female characters now are a husk of that. If they are that level of attractive then they are boring and have no personality. Or are helpless. Think Ashley in Resi. Annoyingly helpless at times and it feels like Leon has to constantly baby her like 'ooh Ashley ur so good at turning a wheel, such big brain'. It's just, eurgh -.-. Give me more Ada Wong (minus the atrocious voice acting). Hell make a resi with Ada as the playable main char.

dunno about you. but in kcd, henry is ugly by purpose. not comically ugly or uncannily ugly but just realistically ugly. and somehow his character is one of the most beautiful part of the game, completely ignoring his ugly peasant face.

That is absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Some use banding to cover their chest IF it's in the way, but sports bras exist for a reason (if women who played sports were all flat chested, why would sports bras exist?), women can't just shrink and grow their chest size as they please. Also my mother, who I take after in the chest department, is one of the most athletic people to probably exist. Washboard abs, but we're the same chest size. She's literally trained Daniel Craig whilst they were filming James Bond and trained a Formula One team. She is not small chested.

I'm not going to even try and say that I'm on her athletic level, I'm not. Which is why she is my example.

Western designers hate beauty now. Gonna have to play only Japanese games and even western corpos are trying to chase the beauty out of there too.

Now who spends 20 hours in any game with a character creator, creating the most beautiful and perfect forms? It's women, not awkward teenage nerds.

♥♥♥♥ like this is done for political, economical, and marketing reasons, not because people's tastes magically changed, and the sweaty male gamers who were "forcing unrealistic beauty standards onto women" are now being leveled out by minorities.

Could live in the dream world. Dream world's not the real world, though, things are pretty sinister in reality.

I will play the crap out of Fable 4 if the game is good enough. The protagonist does not matter. It is me who is actually playing the game. It doesn't matter who the main character is...unless somehow, Sega wanted to put Sonic as Mario in a Mario game, for example. That would be out of place.

I also want to play the next Perfect Dark, which I hope is also released on PC. I won't buy an Xbox just for Perfect Dark.

If memory serves in Fable 3 if you played a girl you were stuck developing Bruce Campbells jaw no matter what because the way leveling STR morphed you.

Naturally it was ahead of its time. Now they facescan a girl and give her the Campbell jaw no morphing necessary
