Why many people hate Ubisoft and praise Valve??
lets check the numbers :

-in 2022 Ubisoft made 2 billions spent 95% of it on their employees and to make new games,
there is like 15 games coming from Ubisoft in the next few years.
-in 2022 Valve made 13 billions ( x6 times ubisoft revenue ) and they made nothing, only CS2 still the same old game from 2012.

-Ubisoft has 20000 employees making games.
-Valve has only 350 employees who are making no games, and they can't if they want because 350 is not enough for the store Steam alone.

Valve takes 13 billions from the gaming industry every year into their owners' bank accounts, and Ubisoft spends all of its 2 billions on making new games every year.

Why do people hate the wrong company? and praise the most terrible company?

Because gamers don't measure a company's success by the number of times they manage to copy their own gameplay loop in a somewhat passable manner.
Frankly, I don't praise either. Neither makes games I'm interested in. Valve merely offers a bigger catalog of 3rd party titles by developers too small to have their own store. UPlay is far less convenient and comfortable to use than Steam. All a matter of service.

You're the last kid on OT to determine which companies are good or not

In terms of the show SpongeBob, Ubisoft is like Poseidon stacking up hundreds of krabby patties that taste awful, while companies like HAL Laboratories is like SpongeBob focusing on a single krabby patty (in their case Kirby), but making that single krabby patty taste perfect by investing love in it.

i just like valve because they own steam to be honest. and steam is the only reason i use a PC
Valve made the steamdeck and is pushing a lot's of efforts in making games playable on linux with proton.

Maybe they haven't made a lot's of games in the recent years but they made a handheld computer and it's a pretty good one.

Making more games doesn't make you a better or worse company.
Ubisoft? Don't you mean Sandbox Mass Production Soft?

I like Steam as a store and app. As for Ubisoft, I don't like how they market any of their games. That's literally it, there is nothing complex about it.

I thought she was talking about Have generic combat then climb tower soft
I would not be surprised if some of the dislike for Ubisoft would be about things that Yves Guillemot said and things that happened inside certain ubisoft games studios rather then about the games themselves.

Crap. I don't have enough points to give you a clown emoji.
This thread is dumb to me. Just because they don't make games they don't deserve money? They are evil for that? Okay... so dumb...

Valve is busy working on hardware. Not the greatest handling of old projects, but it has gotten better over the years.
