The dehumanization of others through hateful, unwarranted, and factually wrong rhetoric is why several people dear to me have been harmed physically, in and out of their work places.

For being different. Imagine, being targeted, harassed, and physically assaulted or worse. Due to being born different.
yes i've been bullied my entire school life. beaten up, insulted, humiliated, spat on, had my stuff stolen on a daily basis.

just because i had long hair and listened heavy metal.

nobody did anything to stop it so i lost my trust in humanity. these days i just hate them back.
and no i don't hate one group more than others, i hate everyone equally.
Be the change you want to see, and you'll see the change follow in others. A life consumed by hate, is a life devoid of so much more worthwhile things.

I don't have an opinion on the matter. Happy?
Besides I have never seen a pride parade here or any other kind of parade. That stuff happens in larger cities if I had to guess. My town ain't small but it ain't big either so if I had to guess again what is the point of a parade in a small place? Is 40k+ population small? To me it seems.
It also could be the holiday just hasn't caught steam due to small demographic, or a more reserved/religious population. Pride is mostly a US/UK thing atm.
It does creep into other countries too. I recall that last year, it was very "eventful" in Serbia, so much that there was a large protest against the parade (edited for clarity).

What I take away from that is that the movement is unwanted to the society as a whole, and repeating it every year isn't going to change that or anything else.

Pride will likely continue until said society polices itself and makes it safer for the LGBT crowd.

Yes, and that's perfectly valid. :p

Well... Yeah. That would be oddly... reasonable response by this place standards.

i'm sorry but there's just something really hilarious about hearing this from the guy that said in another thread "purrs in sergal"

it gives me psychological whiplash seeing a guy who complains about wokeness and say that the lgbt movement is unwanted to type like that

Furries are often more accepting of LGBT individuals, though...there's also bronies out there with an unusual fixation on Nazi iconography too. Just goes to show how diverse it is, I guess.

While i dont discount some see it as a disease that no one has ever proved, what stems is in natures design plan to make a male and female and what their roles are in propagating the species. While it could be a genetic error, couldn't it just as equally be a deliberate act of creation to create balance.
Isnt it best to put the thought out of all our minds until someone clever enough and advanced enough could ever possibly answer via scientific proof beyond doubt such a complex question.
Homosexuality happens in nature all the time, in over 400 species.

It does indeed as does some species changing entire sex.
Why though is beyond my mental grasp although despite once thinking it was error have come to think it has propagation of the species purpose, that its by design. I even believe although couldn't possibly say was true that the order of importance is female,bi,then male and gay interchangeably. It just makes math sense if its all about balance. I know people would say but there is more heterosexual males than bi but there would be until natures saturation of species point is met. I still think the bi part is more integral to the control of a species propagation.

I was on topic though, and you could have easily ignored the one dinky little thread on a subforum full of other threads if you didn't care about it.

On the other hand, I am fairly confident you'd get sick and tired of largely unavoidable rainbows this month all around the world and the Internet, not mentioning everything else that accompanies the event.

I am whatever you want me to associate with, but I do not associate with the movement.

I mean, I get where you're trying to grasp it. You're trying to find an evolutionary reason behind gay/bi. which, could indeed be a stopgap in overpopulation.

But you're also not factoring in, while yes we human beings, are still creatures, many of habit and instinct. We also have higher brain functions that enable self sacrifice and empathy.

Running into a burning building to put the fire out, or save trapped animals is counter-productive to self preservation. But, firefighters still do it.

We as a species, are able to defy base logic, time and time again.

You're trying to break it down, as say a Vulcan from Star Trek would. When, in all truths? We're inexplicable.
