When did you grow out of your edgy atheist phase?
I was an edgy atheist in my late teens and early 20s, but thankfully I grew out of it around 2014 I think. I'm 34 now and still probably technically an atheist, but I just don't care enough about arguing on the internet and being a ♥♥♥♥ anymore to be condescending to people for their beliefs. And to be completely honest, as I get older I do see the appeal to spirituality and think that Buddhism is pretty cool and try to meditate at least 10 minutes per day.

So when did you grow out of your edgy atheist phase? Are you still an edgy atheist?

Some atheist made OP upset by saying his skydaddy isn't real. This post is OP coping.

I don't consider myself as an atheist, I'm just a non believer, but yet I embrace christianity as a part of the culture and history of my country and certainly don't want it to be erased.

I’m an atheist as well but if you believe in something then I respect that. I still love you nonetheless.

Atheist… I dunno. Around the end of high school, and a little after that, I began to question the idea of an afterlife and all that, but I’m not sure whether I really stopped believing in Christianity, or if I just got really confused and stopped thinking about it after a while. (If you’re wondering: no, I was never one of the ‘♥♥♥♥ you religious people’ type. Not enough of an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for that personality.)

Edgy? Shoot, if anything I’ve gotten more edgy with time. In high school I was only allowed to have my hair go just to the point that it covered my ears. Now it completed covers the back of my neck and goes down a good inch or two past that. It’s also such a dark brown, I practically have naturally black hair. Got the music to fit the look as well.

Being an atheist =/= being edgy. I swing between atheism and nihilism, but I'm generally easy going and live and let live. It's all down to what you believe will happen when you die.

I believe we were born from nothing and will return to nothing, but damn if I ain't gonna have some fun on the way between stops.

You joke, but actually...

There's a certain way some people treat "science," which does basically make it a religion. It's not a very good interpretation of how real science should be used, though.

Considering we do have fanatics screaming about MUH SCIENCE without having a single drop of knowledge in any scientific field... I say yes?

To some peoples it is, when they take theories as fact and praise the mighty researchers and scientists for whatever reason and no questionning while science is supposed to be all about questionning.
I've never been one.

Indeed a joke, but I've heard MANY religious tyopes do the projection thing where they ASSUME science is a religion because they lack the understanding of how basic scepticism and critical thinking goes.

When you explain peer review to them they have a real ahrd time or get angry.

That's not how it works.

That's misuse of the word for a start. A theory, colloquially is not much more than a guess. But itn sciecne it's ENTIRELY different.

When a scientific proposal reaches it's HIGHEST point of evidence and proff it becomes a LAW. And what describes the law? THE THEORY.

It's the pinnacle, not a guess.

So they are correct in doing so. But religious people tend to dishonestly believe the wrong thing.

Because peer reivew is self-correcting.

27 after Biden was elected.

There has to be a god.

Because the people who don't believe in him are unhinged, petty and small.

Because whatever is happening lately feels like the opposite of His plan.

Demonstrable rubbish.

As soon as someone presents clear empirical evidence ANY god exists, then I'll believe in them.

But nobody ever has and I've heard decades of claims.
