When did you grow out of your edgy atheist phase?
I was an edgy atheist in my late teens and early 20s, but thankfully I grew out of it around 2014 I think. I'm 34 now and still probably technically an atheist, but I just don't care enough about arguing on the internet and being a ♥♥♥♥ anymore to be condescending to people for their beliefs. And to be completely honest, as I get older I do see the appeal to spirituality and think that Buddhism is pretty cool and try to meditate at least 10 minutes per day.

So when did you grow out of your edgy atheist phase? Are you still an edgy atheist?

I don't try to be edgy, people just hate my views.
Never had one, and I've never been atheist.
Ahh yes, someone with spiritual beliefs using the "Edgy Atheist" trope, this should be good.
Many of the younger people here never had an edgy atheist phase because the pendulum swung. Whereas millenials became atheists as a reaction to traditional conservatism, many zoomers became religious as a reaction to atheism.

True - still the edgy kind, talking about how they should have a tradwife while not acting like a traditional man, themselves.

Never, I guess ...
Never was an edgy atheist. I grew up in Britain in the 1970s. VERY VERY few religious people here or at least practicing religious people.

Some might still hold beliefs but rarely do church or anything (or let it affect their life significatnly).

So I've always been atheist.

From what I've seen with countries like America, where there's been high religiosity, you do get people who leave religion and feel aggrevied and therefore have beef with religion. That's to be expected.
I'm not that religious, but i respect other people's views.

That's true. There is a God, but he wouldn't want 13 year old zealots shilling for him online.
I was never an edgy atheist, as I never felt the need to argue about it. It's a personal choice to recognize or walk away from the brainwashing that happens essentially from birth, that exists in basically every culture in the world. It is a pre-industrialization/pre nitrogen-bolstered agricultural age quirk, a form of guidance to maintain the human population numbers back when that was really important, post-Younger Dryas. Yet, we now have the opposite problem.
don't know tbh
When Hitch passed.
I am an atheist but I never really was edgy. Peoples can believe in what ever they want if it helps them go through life, kids believe in santa, it makes them behave at least for a while loll. Some peoples believe god is watching over them which is a little shaky if you ask me with all that's happening but what ever, they also have an excuse foro that.

My point is, their beliefs don't affect me one bit, sometimes I have to play along like when there's a funeral and I have to go to the services but If I respected the person who died I'll play along and go through the religious ceremony.

Other than that when there's a discussion and I'm confronted to someone with hard beliefs, I will just hold my hand up and say we have different views on the subject and I'd rather not talk about that. Usually it works, when it doesn't I just walk away. If on the other hand they seem interested, I'll just point out things that you cannot really adhere to if you really think about it, I never just flat out say it's stupid to believe there's a god watching over us.

For a person who believes all of his life, it's really hard to just admit that all of this time you were fed lies and there's really nothing, no god no hell (aside from what some of us have to endure) it creates a big hole in there somewhere but it's better to fill that hole with truth than live with a lie.
I wasn't ever exactly Edgy but i was always an atheist, i just never believed Bible stuff, a tad too crazy to me.
