I was really thinking of using a VPN till I read something like what you said here somewhere else. People getting banned anyway even though they use a VPN and people getting busted downloading torrent files and once again they had a VPN. I do not feal sorry for those that download torrent files but I would get upset if I was banned from one of my games.
A VPN won't avoid a ban since that is done to the user account, not the IP.
If you can prove anything you said, I'm all ears.
Never heard of a IP ban before humm?... it's not just user account bans you know.

I have. Bans from a majority of games are done at a user account level. This makes sure the person can't just swap IPs and get back on. Which can be done without a VPN.
Unless people are overly paranoid... and lots are ( and probably for a good reason because they're doing something they shouldn't )... the only thing a VPN is good for is bypassing things websites have put on them ~for a good reason~ and are trying to do something they shouldn't.
Don't do something one shouldn't... and there's no real need for a VPN for general day to day web use.
As for VPN services... Idk, I'm not convinced they make me more secure. Sure, they encrypt the traffic to the endpoint, but all my internet traffic should already be encrypted since all sites I visit use https rather then http. I guess it might benefit privacy if websites won't log my IP, but on the other hand, if I use a VPN then they can potentially know a lot more then that about me. Not sure which of those situations is best.
VPNs are a great technology for a lot of things, like when I worked at a university during the pandemic I could access the university resources that were behind a firewall from home using a VPN. But it's not some invaluable security tool that is the only thing protecting you from all the scumbags and hackers on the internet and your only way to have some privacy. At least that's not the impression I get.
you can also use it to bot sneakers or something
you can use VPNs if you dont want your ISP to know what your accessing... but if youre not doing anything illegal i can guarantee you that you wont notice a single change
As for regional checks and bypassing ISP-driven angry messages, sure. Just don't route all traffic through it, especially if it's a shady free VPN.
