Can we just be done with cancel culture already?
Some people say they are tired of it, but I think also that alot of people get off on it.

Majority of people who get cancelled seem to just convienently disappear off the face of the internet and then no new information hits. Even if they're proven innocent, no one freaking cares. It's disgusting.

People think that if someone has a dissenting voice on something someone else said, that is cancel culture. It's funny to see people going "man, you can't even say or talk about this anymore because of cancel culture", as they say it in video, on a podcast, to millions of people. Then claim cancel cutter when people disagree, with what was said. Oh? They were yelling their disagreement? So? Do you also stop and listen to every crazy homeless person that may cross your path? If not, then why do that online?

It's not as real, or what people make it out to be.

In my opinion the only real (celebrity level) person to ever ACTUALLY get cancelled was Gilbert Gottfried.

But I do not understand, like cáncer culture ONLY affects somehow famous ppl ,so idk why are you so worried about this?

Well, unless you are famous or something... Are you famous? 🤷

I would go even further and say infamous people who allready have dodgy reputation and behavior. But then again its something no one can really explain in generrall whenever it comes upp its just oh no cancell culture? but wherent he a dudge anyway? yea but oh no cancell culture.

They are still famous anyways v:

But yeah, unless you have a very big community or something ,then cancel culture just does not exist for you v:

I'm not even talking about consciousness, especially in preborn/infants where it presents quite differently. I'm just talking about the bodies ability to be aware of itself. Hell, the brain isn't even fully mapped to the body at birth, so even before that.

'Aware of sensory input beyond reflex stimulation.' How's that?

Yes I can see that you are talking about purely carnal biological functions & yes I agree, but that should not dismiss the role of Metaphysics. Which includes the principles of, being, existence, identity, change, space, time, cause, effect, necessity, actuality & the fundamental nature of reality

引用自 Fajita Jim
Further, the Frontal Cortex doesn't develop until the third trimester. This is where the 'person' exists within the brain. Before this development, there is no conscious activity. There's no one 'home' If this were a born person, they would be declared vegetative.

I do agree that science is well versed with principals of consciousness, but certainly lacks in the area of the subconscious, unconsciousness effect (if any) on the "bodies ability to be aware of itself" like the difference between brain & mind.

As I said I agree with your views but I think that science lacks an awareness of anything outside of purely carnal sensory input. But yes I also agree we are mostly guided by what the scientific experts do & say, as very structured intense work always goes into proving something true, false, plausible etc.

My only argument is that even though the science may be factual it is not very considerate to the things it can not yet prove or disprove. In no way am I saying that you are wrong as science seems to have the right tools to explain things, but not in every sense.

Anyway I do find our conversation very interesting & would love to continue, but I think we have both gone way off topic LOL Maybe some other time as I have come to know you as an open minded, lateral thinker that applies well thought out ideas for all of us to ponder & enjoy.

The only way for cancel culture to end is for those of us who are normal to start canceling the woke.
BiggerBoss 2023 年 8 月 24 日 上午 3:33
I do agree that it has helped put away some actual truly vile people like Harvey Weinstein for example and like R Kelly. But at the same time it's like we go too far with it and it's like no one can ever be forgiven or are allowed to slip up like most human beings do. Some people lose their jobs over the pettiest things, like Roseanne Barr losing her tv show over a supposed racist tweet. No one seems to ever grasp the psychological effect of like....being constantly hated an told off an disliked on a constant basis by people you've never met on the internet. Humans were not built for that.

that would imply it was a real thing to begin with

like, the vast majority of people who are "canceled" end up not really having much change in their lives, if not going to shows where they can grift for money

It's definitely a real thing, I think many on the left would like to pretend like their actions don't have consequences, they do. Roseanna Barr lost her tv-show because she dared criticize Obama's campaign, not because she was "racist" the fact is most of the left who support cancel culture if they wanted to cancel racism would have to cancel themselves. Affirmative action lovers say what?

And the only way to fight cancel culture is to start coming for things that the left supports/loves. Like Bud-Light. Like Target. Both places that have lost alot of money off being cancelled. Bud went from being one of the top beers to a name nobody will remember in a few years.

Uh, saying someone is "The muslim brotherhood and planet of the apes had a baby" isn't just 'criticizing Obama's campaign'.

One has to understand the context.

First who is the Muslim Brotherhood...they're a group that's been around for a very long time, that pushes Islamic ideals and political goals and some say fun terrorism and have a long history of persecution of the Jews. In fact they were a group who allied themselves with the actual Hitler to exterminate Jews.

Who is Valerie Jarrett? Senior advisor to Obama's Campaign that pushed US policy to empower the Muslim Brotherhood.

Fun and pertinent fact about Roseanne Barr....she's an outspoken Jewish woman.

Are you saying that a Jewish person isn't allowed to criticize or treat harshly groups or political entitities (not races but political people) who allied themselves with groups who supported the actual Hitler?

Cancel is not ... to stop drinking alchohol, but good try :)
Muslims do drink alcohol by the way, and alot.

I was referencing an actual event. Not the average Muslim.

Cancel is cancel, buddy.

Growing up 80's, I'm fully aware of the cancel culture. Conservatives tried to cancel my music (punk), my hobby (gaming), my girl (I dated a black girl for a minute, whilst living in Tennessee), my ethos (atheism), my crutch (bowls of Earth's good green), and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ even tried to stop a concert I went to at 14 (Slayer).

♥♥♥♥ those people.

Surely the big modern kick off for "Cancel Culture" in the USA was the House Unamerican Committee where they cancelled all the actors and artists for having views they weren't keen on.

I like how you completely glossed over the 'planet of the apes' part. Why would you do that?

what the ♥♥♥♥

also funny that despite being canceled, she remains famous —to the point where she literally struck a deal to make a whole new show about her canceling—, and her net worth sits at a comfortable 80 million dollars

Because I was trying to be nice to the leftists here who support her cancelling...

I didn't want to add all the context that would show many of the folks against her are the real racists.

If a black person can't be compared to a an intelligent ape from a fictional movie because another person is overly sensitive and thinks that any comparison of this type isn't just a single insult but a grand scheme to make the entire race into apes...well lets just say I don't think it's Roseanne that has the problem there.

The movie character that Rosanne referenced looked ALOT like Valerie Jarrett and Rosanne thought Valerie was white.

According to wiki she took a DNA test, and it turns out Rosanne was right, she is majority European.
