Female Armor in Video Games
It’s a tale as old as time- female armor is generally never realistic and often leaves far less to the imagination.

To be clear- I don’t mind, given it is to be expected and there is nothing wrong with wanting to be attractive in a game, but as I’ve grown older, I’m often just disappointed when I see it. I find something like the Sisters of Battle, armored Samus, Lady Maria, etc to be far more interesting and intimidating than a revealing outfit. Perhaps it is a matter of perception as to whether you view your character as a dress-up doll or as a person. Whether you want to be cool vs alluring.

So where do you stand? Is “less more” to you, or do you prefer realistic/heavy armor. In either case, I would be curious to hear why. How do you want your character to look/be perceived?

I dislike em most of the time because of how impractical they are which kills any sense of realism
I'm not a big fan of sexual themes in video games anyway so I'd go with a Samus anyday.
Me personally am just sick of people calling for realistic armor and proportions in a game where you shoot fireballs at lizard men. Screw off with that crap

Just because it's a fantasy setting doesn't mean it can be deprived of basic logic and have characters run around in bikini outfits, taking arrows on bare skin while still somehow having armor's protection...
I think EVERYONE should get two options in games that require armor.

REALISTIC and SEXY.

This goes for the guys too!

If women get bikini armor, then the dudes get bulging bikini armor speedos as well.

True equality where everyone can be sexy or realistic! :SafeForWork:

Women can't handle heavy armour.

Armor isn't that heavy though.

Pretty sure it can. For gameplay reason.
If a mage guy wearing nothing but robe and dress don't die from single sword/knife strike, bikini armor ain't so different.
Basic logic tells me fabric don't stop blade.

Yup, I've seen women with more extra weight in their thighs and ass than what armor weighs. And armor is even easier to carry around than a car tire since the harness the pieces attached to evenly distribute the weight throughout the body.

Yes sure.. but those aren't the ones depicted in video games wearing that armor... are they?
Also, in most games, we have magic/SciFi -- so "real world" doesn't need to apply anyway.

Pretty much...

This is the:

"I suspend my disbelief about a magical / SciFi world and 99.99% in it... but draw the line at female armor because it's this day and age's social no-no for some groups of people that I want to score points with"

... just keep suspending that's all... that .01% isn't worth the effort... no points will be awarded.

Yeah, right. Realism. In real life I can also chew glass and use it as fuel to spit acid from my butt. But we better have realistic armor!!!
