Depends.

If my country is attacked without it being its fault, then i side with my country's tactical army asap.

If my country is attacked but it is due to its own fault, then i give them finger.

If my country wants to attack a foreign wrongdoer, i strongly disagree with meddling in foreign affairs because that always backfires and also give them finger.

If my country wants to go to war against somebody who was wronged and is in the right, like for instance mobilize nato force to attack Russia, i immediately open fire against officers, the moment they gather us to give weapons.

I love Justice and i adore homeland. But in that exact order. I have zero tolerance for scheming new age charlatans, democratorcs and faqtarts. One of the reasons i keep going, is to demolish the New World (order), ideally from within

Said it before, but... yes*

That asterisk being, my "war strategy" is to play along just long enough to get myself in the fastest and/or most heavily armed vehicle I can manage. And then promptly ♥♥♥♥ off to 'wherever.'

And hell yes I will defend myself. I'll be the most costly deserter the military has ever seen if they insist on pursuit.

in the end i'm just against any unnecessary bloodshed.

like the Ukraine and Russia conflict, could there have been a peaceful way?
couldn't Ukraine just give back the stolen land? maybe surrender their PM to Putin?
as far as i know, Russia just wants to unite the countries, not destroy them.

how many have died already or how many more needs to die for some land?

life is precious and shouldn't be wasted for greed.

Erm, well, you really don't get a choice.
They'd have to lower their standards to "barely warm body" before most people would get successfully drafted in this day and age. :marten_sip:

No way, that's a total waste of time
RRW359 29 abr. 2023 às 7:20
Probably but I wouldn't hold it against anyone if they tried to desert or skip the country.

Erm, well, you really don't get a choice.

Well, you kind of do get a choice. If a draft should happen in the U.S., there are many things you can do. We can take pointers from the boomers.

1) Lie. When you go to your recruitment center, tell them everything that is wrong with you along with things that you think are wrong with you. Make a point to tell them that you are uncoordinated, color blind, addicted to drugs (just don't say the drugs you are addicted to are caffeine and nicotine), and really anything else you can think of that they would not be able to prove is a lie.

2) Run. The U.S. is a very big place. Many people just "disappeared" themselves when they got their draft notice. Sounds easy, but it is actually a bit harder than you would think.

3) Fake your own death. Did you know that technically speaking it is not illegal to fake your own death? It is illegal to claim insurance money from your fake death. Stealing or creating an identity is also illegal. But faking your own death, not illegal.

Those are just three examples, off the top of my head, on how to avoid the draft. It is possible. Many people have done it.
The second and third are true with any kind of violation of the law and still require you to completely uproot your life and all your friends and possessions. As for option one they might figure out you are lying and if everyone does it they'll just lower their standards for who they bring in.

I was drafted, but they they ended up rejecting me on account of my criminal conviction for littering.
During the offensive better not risk soldiers litter on enemy territory. Must set good country example.

Completely uproot your life, leaving friends and family.... Kind of like going to another country and shooting at people you don't know? That kind of uprooting?

I was very surprised that faking your own death is not illegal. I actually did call a local lawyer and asked about this. And yes, it is in no way illegal to fake your own death. As I stated, it is illegal to claim insurance money on your faked death. It is illegal to steal someone's identity or to make up a new one. But faking your own death? Not illegal. So, from a technical point, I don't think it would be illegal to fake your own death to get out of the draft. Yes, it is going to cause you any number of problems further on down the line. But at least you will not be dropped in a jungle, forced to fight people and never really knowing who the enemy is. (Vietnam)
If you survive the war though you can come back to that and probably be paid for your time, you can't do that if you are running from the law. Also I'm guess that if draft dodging is a crime then faking your death to draft dodge counts, there just isn't an extra penalty for faking your death specifically.
