Like, yeah.. i get the corporate side of things, but i am a normal person not a corporate d-bag.
So when i need to use 4 different platforms to play my games, i get irritated.
It would be lovely if Steam networking wasn't exclusive to games purchased on Steam, since Epic prioritised cross-platform compatibility in order to spread all over PC gaming, and there are no other big name alternatives.
If anything, Epic's influence may be doing more harm than good. Any other competitor would have been better.
Epic is pretty good as Steam.
They are making other stuff like steam.
Also, we have the fact that EGS is competing with steam for years now and I don’t see any benefits in terms of lower prices. Even the opposite is the case, publishers coming from EGS’s exclusivity deals often get extra greedy and charge for multiple season passes and rarely drop discounts on their games.
It is infact funny that OP is even mentioning Epic and competition in the same sentence when Unreal Engine sadly has barely any competition. I’d rather see some competition in the game engine market.
I don't know anyone with epic who uses it for anything except the free/exclusive games. If given the option they will always go to steam first for a game.
