That's a lot of fun isn't it
People underestimating you not only leads to fun, but can sometimes be much more than that.
I have had many a pick up from record fairs, video games sales, or carboots because of this.
I stated múltiple times how silly I am
A rich smart person is eccentric, a poor smart person is a loon. But can a smart person really be poor? Debatable. No intelligence fixes a thorn driven through your heart, yet still, if you are smart you should do better. Least the guilt of being given more than some, drive you mad.
Every gift, not actualized, is like self hatred. Though nothing matters in the end, brings some comfort to personal weakness of character.
For example, I am resolutely untalented in many many ways. I don't profess to be good at anything much and have simply dabbled in a number of things over the years to get good enough to sort of bumble along.
But I have ONE small trait that I found out through some standardized testing a couple fo times. I'm REALLY good at logic - if their metrics are to be believed, the top 1% of the top 1% (so 1 in 10,000).
Now this means where something like reasoning and problem solving goes, I can be really quick. On occasion utterly without thinking about it.
But that doesn't mean I'll be any smarter nor will it mean I'll do a better job on the whole.
I guess the best trcik is to simply try and play to your strengths. That's about the best I can say.
No not at all. Opposite is the case. I rather try to be perceived less smart than smarter or as actually smart as I am.
Simply so I can lean back and relax. Being pereceived as the genius isn't always fun, especially not if you work in IT.
It can be quite amusing watching the people altercate, such with gumball. Ego against ego. A great shouting match.
We always return to hemingway, which set our belief with his qoute "Poor Faulkner. Does he really think big emotions come from big words? He thinks I don’t know the ten-dollar words. I know them all right. But there are older and simpler and better words, and those are the ones I use."
For of what use is it, to say what some may not understand, that many will gloss over. Who does not hate the book that you must have a dictionary by your side? If your words ring true, rather than hide in verbal bureaucracy, are not the simple words generally sufficient? Simple words reach the hearts of men far easier, and are less opt to be interpreted fallaciously.
To speak simply, is too offer men nourishing soup, ready to eat. To speak verbosely, as we now, is to offer a can of food without can opener, with an instructional manual and a warning that it must be slow cooked, without offering a stove which to do so.
Our twelfth grade English teacher, a brilliant and kindhearted man, spoke of how when one becomes more skilled at English, the longer one may speak, without saying anything at all. Which one can take to heart. A strong grasp of English, can turn the description of the butter cup flower, into a essay, of good length.
Because it's realtive as I said. You came higher up in your class, because you were able to pass tests more effectively. This can indeed mean you have a better reading comprehension, or better memory and the ability to do tests ande xams.
THat is not much use in other situations though. Or might not be.
Granted it can definitely help but only when it's relevant.
I've both had the firtune to know people who were extermely clever but couldn't pass exams, mostly due to nerves (one due to a medical issue with memory they later got addressed). I've also known people the other way round - not smart at ll and completely illogical but because thye ahd a decent memory could pass exams well. Utterly useless though.
I had one guy work for me in a job who have really high exam results from school. The problem was he just couldn't put this stuff he'd remember into practice and was later sacked because he was a nightmare. Nothing wrong with his attitude, just incompetent.
I also had a friend who has sadly since died, who was fairly low down in his class at school, but I always found him clever and later good with computers. When it was realised he had memory problems and got it addressed, he then went on to university got a BSc in computer science (in 2 years for a 3 year course) and opened his own independent computer store.
He was an abslolute genius, yet back then you would never have thought so.
Even on youtube this can be demonstrated.
The truly smart can relate to ALL people of any stripe. You will easily find videos where they have a sceintist explain a principle to a child of 6, a teen, an adult and so on.
I guess it boils down again in some way to truly smart being something you can use in as many conditions as possible.
Read as if you are trying to force yourself to sound intellectual.
I mean :" We always return to hemingway ... "
Really ?
some times I drop this disguise, do bad things, that's when I have to put on another disguise, disguise of a criminal, mad man.
neither of the two really suits me well, in a sense I am still hashing out what I am.
