What foods do you eat when you're on a diet?
I'm trying to lose 10kg before summer so I'm dieting so hard right now but I'm really bad at finding good diet foods though I'm kinda just living on coffee, macadamia nuts, celery sticks and chicken soup, Greek yogurt and fruit and vegetables and... I'm starving. BUT I'm a little skinnier everyday and that makes it worth it. What foods do you eat when you're on a diet? I need some suggestions.

Well if I have money a month of food might look like

20 bags of great value frozen mixed veggies
2 bags of whole wheat flour
A jar of yeast
Some cans of tomato sauce and tomato paste
Some spices
5 bags of frozen fruit
A couple things of bananas to freeze and eat like popsicles
Some eggs
A thing of cheese
Some dried beans
Some salad making stuff like romaine lettuce
etc

Air popped popcorn is a great thing too. You can fill up on it and hardly get any calories.
Regular crackers can be pretty low cal

proteins and fats make you feel full
wheat interferes with your hunger signal and youdont feel full on breads and pastas

Steamed fish with ginger and green onion, lots of raw veggies, two spoons of rice, an apple/orange, a small bowl of mixed nuts. That meal twice a day

I also usually have problems with headache when eating at a deficit

no fried foods; no excessively salty foods; no "empty calorie" foods or drinks - no beer, no soda, no candy.
if you're looking to lose weight, you need a caloric deficit. if you're looking to feel full even when you don't have much food, you need to eat protein, lots of it.
but not too much becasue protein will damage your kidneys think

basic guideline is no more than 60 g protein a day
When I want to lose weight I eat the same foods I normally do, just in different ratios

The main factor is eating a calorie deficit - to lose weight, it doesn't matter what foods this is made up of

I keep protein high because it's filling and spares muscle (no, it's NOT bad for your kidneys unless you already have kidney issues), filling veg and low density carbs

Focus on eating lean protein, vegetables, fruits, nuts, etc. I.e. all the foods you should be eating normally anyway.

Not a nutritionist, but you should avoid bread and potatoes since they are just useless starches. And obviously cut out sugar.

If I want to lose weight I just eat less carbs for 2 or 3 weeks. No sweets, no crisps, less bread and less potatoes.

If you're dieting for a significant time like that, it's really something you should talk with your doctor about if you haven't. It's a good idea to find out a minimum amount of calories you should be consuming. It can be bad to starve yourself.

I've never been on a diet like that. I pretty easily get in danger of losing weight if I don't eat everything I see. Though I've still found myself in situations where I have similar considerations. I might be fasting for some reason, or I'm like, 'what the heck I consumed over 4000 calories today, it's only been an hour since I ate. But I'm hungry already,' and I don't want to eat again for a while for whatever reason. Then I try to pick foods that have a lot of fiber or something that is filling but isn't high calorie. Idk what's available where you're at, but you can just check foods--on their packages or online to see what's in them, and try things and see what works best for you. Shredded wheat crackers and popcorn used to be a couple of my go-to's, but I get tired of stuff quick and don't have any specific ones rn.

Might also try asking your doctor about appetite suppressants/supplements if the doctor says you're eating enough, but you are still having issues with feeling too hungry.

I tend to just ignore the hunger pains if I need to lose weight. I dont eat much, and surprisingly the weight goes away. Must watch blood sugar when fasting though.

I don't as I'm lucky I've never needed to diet ever.

Even at my ripe old age of 56 I still look like in my profile pic.

But anyway, what YOU Need to eat to diet varies from what another person does. So you shouldn't take any answers here as specifics.

What you should do is go to your doctor and ask them as they know your medical data. It isn't as simple as cut down on fats or something sweepingly simple.

What foods do you eat when you're on a diet?

You can eat what ever you want 3 times a day as long as it's not a meal to feed a 500 pound lion, a normal plate not a mountain of food on it. The trick is not to eat in between those meals. You can drink as much water as you want.
