These things together makes me pirate games:
- Initial cost being 80$
- game released way before time (broken and incomplete)
- has stuppidly overpriced Macrotransactions / unnecesary battlepass
- sells you that incomplete content as "new DLC"
- game as a service. This one is just a deal breaker for me

I pirated hella games as a kid that I bought afterwards.
But now I just buy... indies at most

Nice necro 😂

Anyway piracy is bad and pirates are terrible yada yada.

actually there is situations like not having enough money to pay for the game or playing a game made by EA or some greedy company in those situations piracy is fine
For games, I will do it if it isnt in steam and I really really want to play it.

One year necro, but I will reaffirm my stance. Some dev studios and publishers can basically get ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

I don't think it is a problem it's only the big publishers who seem to care. Smaller indie devs don't care if people pirate their games, they probably pirated a lot themselves when they were kids and couldn't get a job because of school.

My opinion is I don't pirate if i can avoid it and if I absolutely have to pirate an old game for an emulator or something then I will buy another product from the developer to make up for it.

AI is piracy. Any company that is developing AI products (e.g. Google, Microsoft, Apple, Adobe, Open AI, X etc) without proper compensation or consent is stealing and profiting from the work of creators. Yet another example of where laws do not apply to the ultra rich.

I'm not going to comment on game piracy but the point about demoing and learning about things is a valid point.

With me working at music festivals, I've got to know some very lovely people but I've also discovered lots of new music.

And I've been given copies of albums too - but ironically copies from the actual artists themselves. So, "pirating" their own albums.

Get what you can get and if it just happens to be for free then go for it.
Wow, this is a blast from the past and interesting to see my past comment but even ocean pirates are criminals because they steal things.
