Strange this all started happening around the time they got rid of their old "Don't Be Evil" company motto.
Probably longer
Search any term.
6 billion results in 0.22 seconds
Hmm
Go to page 25
Now look at how many results there are. Is it the same? Maybe its the same.
Now try to find any results past like page 45 for most common search results
why do you ask
Changed search engine back to Ecosia to get the correct link, top result which is how I posted it in the thread I was in.
Hadn't realised how bad Google can be nowadays.
I say 'Google' all the time when I talk internet searches just cause it's a well known engine too
Never sign in
Firefox set to clear everything upon exit,
Have Noscipt addon and Google scripts are prevented from running, though I do need to toggle them to allowed on some sites as I can't login without it....Wish companies would develop their own scripts instead of using the Google.com script
LOL just did that and I got option for next page, no numbers, allow the Google.com script and for 'steam limited account' it says 135 results, which is 14 pages. Yet 'Steam' gets 2.1 billion and I can't get passed page 7...
As bad as Amazons sorting, 10,000 results and sort by price = 923 results.
Doesn't matter if you are signed in or not.
I don't even have a google account and I still get their bias and sponsor bubbles.
Between cookies and other forms of internet use and I.P. address tracking they still push a lot of the same garbage.
You would have to run every ad-blocker, script blocker, a VPN, and use a different computer each time so they do not deliver biased results.
It's a lot easier to just NOT use google for search anymore because of how bad it has become.
I do use a VPN too. Only thing that remains the same when I use the net is my PC.
I didn't realise Google had gotten that bad. I normally use Ecosia. Reset Firefox yesterday, weird behaviour, and their default search engine is Google. I had forgot to change it back to Ecosia which led me to the bad Google results this morning.
Only Google account I have is for my phone. Google or Apple and I don't really like Apple products when it comes to transferring files to and from devices.
Which would lead me to believe that google has been taken over by hysterical hylics, unless them not being such was merely an act. And you shouldn't see them as any better than other algorithmic data thieves such as e.g. facebook or ChatGPT/StableDiffusion, anyway.
