Being a graphic desinger. How about a signwriter or maker as an example?
back in the dark ages my dad was a signwriter in his spare time. Professionally of course. The way then was oil paints, brushes and the like.
Then technology , and materials gradually changed. Printing, plastics, vinyls and so on.
And yet there are still old fashioned oil paint signwriters that exist. Granted they may be lesser but they exist. And other sign makers that exist merely use the tech available.
stop being a mathematician and become a command prompt engineer
stop being
stop
I stopped audio engineering (kind of) then went to insurance.
I stopped insurance and went to law.
Eventually via a few other things, I stopped doing law in favour of laying down on the sofa and farting occasionally.
Thanks. Truth is, I've spent most of my life running with artists and other creative-types. They were always welcoming (and always more interesting). My family kind of hated art... despite the talent and creativity displayed by my siblings.
Art was for unemployed losers. I was supposed to become an architect... lol Oops.
I think I have always loved and appreciated artists because I never had the courage to be one.
They are kind of flaky losers, to be honest. Then again, aren't we all? I mean, I could have grown up to be Marjory Taylor Green... that would've shown them.
No effing algorithm could ever replace an artist. If there is a god, s/he/whatever loves artists.

I can honestly say some ♥♥♥♥ was proven right:
1. artists have always been a privileged lifestyle. Know who the greats were? I can definitely tell you it wasn't some homeless dude behind the castle but someone in the castle.
2. Most "artists" aren't as good as they think if a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ A.I. COMPUTER PROGRAM CAN DO THEIR JOB FOR THEM
3. If their art is stolen it just means that their "unique" art is just a dime a dozen cal-arts level of mid
4. It just shows that the future requires tons of knowledge about computers and coding. Sad reality but eventually in the future everything EVERYTHING WILL BE DONE BY COMPUTERS!!! Best learn how to work with them or fix em b/c those jobs are not coming back unless we get a Y2K level scenario.
5. A.i. art is either ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ or a threat to art and artists. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Pick a lane
6. There is no REAL THREAT to REAL ARTISTS!!! People (usually the rich dumb ones) will buy overpriced and expensive items even if you can get much more and for much less b/c "I like to uhhh...support locallll artistssss and uhhh.....you just don't get ittt!!!!" Hipsters and collectors critics or people who post crap on yelp level of airs.
7. A.I. art like trucking will be a good thing in hindsight. No more toiling weeks doing drawings or hauling cargo. Now with computers it'll be done automatically. Less traffic accidents as well as less artists whining about commissions and deadlines for art pieces as well as getting screwed over for payment.
8. Knock em down a peg. Art won't save the world! Grab a shovel and a pickaxe or welding torch. Dig your hand into some dirt and plant some seeds. Realize that if your position / living / job is replaceable you aren't as important as you think you are!
Unless there's another big AI breakthrough that allows AI to continuously think and perceive without any input, they will remain a tool under the control of humanity. I still think AI will be massively disruptive going forward and not everyone will come out the other side unscathed.
Just like digital art (when it first came around), A.i. Image generation is a tool, not a replacement.
When digital came around, we didn't suddenly all stop using traditional mediums, like a lot of people claimed would happen.
That's like saying that monkeys or dogs are either BS or a threat to animals and continued propagation of animals.
Clearly monkeys and dogs are capable and can be a competitor for resources in an ecosystem but they don't usher existential threat into all phylums of the animal kingdom ...like, oh, I don't know... that human thing does.
Yet, in this metaphor, the other animals are arguing about the supposed threat posed by monkeys and dogs, while just ignoring humans.
A.i. itself, particularly AGI, is a concern that can replace art, artists... everyone.... and everything... because that is the nature of general level intelligence.
These image generators aren't even actually true artificial intelligence; they couldn't catch a mouse, or fetch a stick, or unpeel a banana,
...even actual a.i. can't consistently find cheese in a maze yet if that cheese sometimes is a different color.
