How do I make overwatch compatible with the steam overlay?

What I mean to say is how do I get it to show up as a none steam game?(so my friends know i'm playing it.) everytime I start it my little status thingy goes green but then back to blue. I tried setting it to the blizzard launcher but that didn't seem to work. But funny enough, a few days ago after playing on my friends account of Overwatch it always displayed me playing it. It's just not working now. It goes green for a second and then goes away.

I asume that you added from steam menu add a none steam game to library > you can ether have the game or the battlenet launcher (I prefer the game since it will use the name and will open the launcher. I haven't had any problems with my Blizz games playing through steam yet, are you able to use the steam in-game overlay even when steam go from green to blue?

Well I'm more concerned about trying for it to show what i'm actually playing. Like I said it goes green for a second but then turns off.
