Is Ash the worst Pokemon trainer of all time?
Spoiler:

In episode 38 of XYZ his Greninja fights a Fire Pokemon.

And loses.

How can a water Pokemon

Lose against Fire type.

This show is trash.

The anime is terrible, there's nothing else that needs to be said

I guess... maybe the hero can't always win? I dunno.

Blame the writer. He's the one making Ash trash.
By now, Ash should be able to get Pikachu to deathstroy a Steelix with a small zap.

No, but he is a timelord.

He doesn't age and pokeballs are bigger on the inside.

And a timelord has like a trillion IQ...

But I can't get over the fact that he lost a fight in which he had a clear advantage.

Water vs Fire, come on.

This whole thing is like I fought Conan the Barbarian with a broom.

And won.

Nobody watches Pokemon for the plot (I assume - I've only seen about 20 seconds of the show, and it was plenty).

Water vs Fire, come on.

Level 5 water-type versus a level 100 fire-type. Now it isn't a clear advantage.

It's proof that all the Pokebattles are a work. It's like wrestling.

Are levels even a thing in the anime?

How else would a water-type lose to a fire-type? That's the only logical conclusion that I can think of.

Pokeballs actually desintegrate the pokemon, and store the information to rebuild it. Basically, it's killing and creating pokemons over and over.
