How to clean my mousepad (sorry if it's in the wrong forum)
Hello! I live in a house with 3 constantly shedding dogs, and so there is always dust and dog fur embedded into my mouse pad. I just noticed on accident, when I drag my nails into my mouse pad, dirt and dust comes up to the surface.

I was coming here to ask for SERIOUS help, on how to clean it. There are always people that will come on and tell you to give it a bleach bath or some crap, and that's not what I'm after. It's a SteelSeries QcK Heavy (cloth)

I was also wondering if i'll have to go out and buy anything, because from what I understand you need a tooth brush, soap, and a towel. I have Ajax soap, if that works or not.

I use handsoap and cloth. Wet it down and wash lightly.

Clean it with hot water, dish soap, and a scrub.
Duck tape. Make a ring out of it, sticky side out. Roll it on the mouse pad to collect all the dusk/skin/hair. Toss in the trash.

It helps if you state what material the pad is made out of as well, since there are diffrent ways to clean diffrent materials. Or you can just buy another mouse pad for $10. There are some good gaming ones out there.

I cant stand how the cloth mousepads always smell of chemicals so I have been using vinyl covered office clipboard instead of mousepad for years now. Very easy to clean with just damp cloth, doesnt collect all kind of crap and doesnt wear out. Laser has no problem reading the surface either.
Don't forget to clean out your keyboard too. I have five dogs in my house, and I get tons of hair in my keyboard.

This thread reminded me to clean mine out. I start on the right end, and blow into the keys moving to the left. Then I take something flat and narrow enough to fit between the keys and try to carefully dig out as much hair as I can.

Missed that, thanks!

So the tape trick is the best one I found for that kind of material.

I thought that was a typo, but nope. It's a duct tape brand I've never heard of before.

Yep.

I'd recommend getting a hard mousepad instead of the fabric one. I have the same mouse pad and the all the dust and hair is annoying.
